Body

I never really was good at spriting bodies and I've only done it once before, a long long time ago, and it wasn't good back then either.
So here's another go. |
Interesting :p
|
He looks sad :[
|
Not bad, but he needs some manly nipples ;o
|
I like it! ^^
|
Its nice, But I have two things to pick at.. First, If he was planned to be used on graal, he is a bit too flat looking, looks as if he was made more for a platformer, give him a more top-down perspective. Second, give him some more curves, he looks VERY stiff at the moment, as if he is being scared by something. But other than that, I like it so far. :)
|
He is very flat, especially his upper body. Your a very good artist but this one is not your best work.
|
Definitely, spriting isn't something I'm very good at, so I practice. As for the flatness, I wanted to keep it simple, though the stomach area could use a little depth.
|
dont do a muscle body like the other players before :O
its totaly stupid to do this because this is a 2d roleplaying / actionadventrue game and i never saw anything like a sixpack in any other game before use ur fantasy and deform your sprites how much you want let it look cool not real i dont like the face i think it needs some bigger eyes :D anime style ^^ |
That's 'cause they're usually clothed :P
|
i think thats has nothing to do with the clothes i saw a lot good rpg naked sprites without muscles and they was much better than with muscles
if i want real looking things i go out and fight with rl people lol use ur fantasy and do something sweet looking thats the point of a rpg not to do all like in rl |
Eh... it really is just a matter of preference for style of the sprite. If I preferred an anime, non-realistic sprite I would have aimed for such. And not every sprite is for an RPG.
|
how i said maybe this is action adventure
but the fact is that this is a 2d game and sprites in 2d games dont need muscles or things like that becaus most time they looks ugly with them its only a tip because you are a good pixelartis and you have fantasy ;) |
You're not making a lot of sense. Graal is what you make of it. As for muscles, it's purely a decision made when the spriting process begins. Just because this is a 2D game, doesn't mean there can't be realistic styles. I think what I made was far, far from realistic, but there's no need to skew anatomical features unless I'm going for that sense of style. I don't think my guy is really 'built', but muscles are a part of human anatomy and I decided that the best way to fill in the empty space of the torso was to feature the muscles. I understand the tip, but it was the aim I was going for, and changing it wouldn't make much of a point.
Anyways, since I know I'm not that good at spriting, I feel I shouldn't skip to styles such as dismissing muscles right now because I don't feel I've practiced it enough. |
Ill admit that when making these bodies and sprites or w/e people tend to try to make it to the exact human form. Which is something that you just dont need to do and it kinda destroys creativity.
|
think of the girls and let this game look sweet not this macho ahnold **** XD
its only a feeling i know but i wonder why all guys doing this muscle thing you can overdetail your sprites with muscle or what you want but in my eyes this sprites will never have any flair |
I don't think he's anything like Arnold? I think it's far from overdetailed. Like I said, I'd rather practice my spriting anatomically correct, instead of jumping onto something else.
|
ok than an other thing i zoomed in and i see u are using colors which looks from far away the same
now i know you like more details but there is no need to use more colors which you cant see from far away and dont be angry or anything i say this only to you because you have some skills ^^ maybe there are some points because i dont say things to sages graphics but its not allowed to say them here ^^ if you want to do an anatomically correct body i like it without the eyes at all :D maybe do the eyebrows 3pixel long and darker ^^ |
I don't get angry, I take critiques fairly well I believe. But the bit about muscles were purely preference.
As for the colors, I chose to be a little liberal. Mainly because I did have less colors at first, but I added a few to smoothen off some lines and shades. |

played around with the eyes and i turned the shoulders 2 pixel deeper i think you lost the neck :D ahh before i forget it i can write it here ... sorry guys but you dont really need to write some pms to me like "if i have fun to work with you on any server" at the moment i havent really time for graal |
The color style fits with your avatar. I like :)

Well Dusty, I did a little edit for you to show you how you could possibly improve the sprite quite a bit. Firstly, your sprite didnt seem to have a valid light source, you had the light on the head coming from the top left corner, than you had light hitting on both sides of the shoulders, so the most important edit I made was I changed the light source to coming almost directly from the top. Second, I editted the head a bit, if youll notice, I moved down the eyes a bit.. In your sprite, it had the appearence the his eyes were looking me directly in the eye, when in turn, they should actually have the appearence that he is looking "forward". But thats basically all I editted.. Hopefully I gave you a better idea on what you can do. Also hope you dont get mad for the edit without asking. :p
|
Dusty I like it quite alot except for the perspective and yes he is a little square.
Overall though I really like your work. Btw I like your Avatar to :) |
