General Question

Well, I am making a playerworld!
I need to know what you'd prefer, a leveling system like Graal Kingdoms, however there will only be two types of leveling [Physical / Mental[Magic]]!
Upon leveling in either of those two will increase either your damage [Physical] or Magic Power [Mental]. However, once gaining a level overall the health of your character shall increase!

Now, I can either use this or

Stick to how Graal Classic was, quests that increase all of the above. Nothing else that I can really say about this...

Which of the two would you prefer? If possible, state why too please! Thanks

PrinceDark 04-20-2007 09:24 AM

Form your own unique leveling system. That would be interesting.

mmmmkay 04-20-2007 12:53 PM

I don't think you can lose with traditional questing as long as it's not a dungeon filled with 1000 baddies. On top of the questing I'd like to see an economy and RPing. Basically what Graal2001 was with many many many more quests.. and not as terribly sloppy :S.

Moonite 04-20-2007 03:53 PM

dont copy that lameass game crossfire again ... plz

Chompy 04-21-2007 02:21 PM

What about classic and that leveling system..?

Chandler 04-21-2007 06:19 PM

Already done! Thanks :)

Tom 04-22-2007 04:28 AM

>.> Sounds like my original plans for Arca, but i never finish jack crap so meh.

btw, i thought it was pure classic?

Chandler 04-22-2007 08:25 AM

what were your "origional" plans?
yes, it was. It has the same stuff as classic

elite_master 04-23-2007 03:28 AM

Don't even get close to trying to copy any aspect of GK unless you can own GK in everything, else you'll be blown out of the water.

Classic, you have a chance. Get some good developers, work on it, and keep working on it. You're a pretty good scripter, so you should be able to get some hot quests done :)

A complete contradiction.

It's 1105958548% impossible to make fun PvE on Graal.

Create a leveling system that works mostly/entirely by killing other players. I think Versus was doing something like this sort of as a small side thing, but that's not what I'm talking about.

If you made a server that revolves entirely around leveling in PvP, people will play, and love it.

-Make the level cap almost impossible to reach
-Make sure a low level player can kill a higher level one, thus making it skill > levels
-Add a system that makes people worth more EXP based on how many kills they have in a row, what level they are, ect.

Work off that, win.

Some people don't like servers like that though. We have Zone for that.

Well other than the level cap being impossible, you're describing the good things about Planetside, an MMOFPS I play alot. Google It.

A) Zone is Gold
B) Zone is futuristic

Some peope don't like a lot of things. Do you suggest canceling every project because some people don't like whatever project it may be?

I'm not suggesting that but rather countering what you had said which stated it is impossible to make a "PvE" server which is a complete fallacy. You were in a sense trying to speak for the entire Graal population while I was just saying not everyone agrees with what you like.

I don't recall saying it's impossible to make a PvE server, I recall saying it's impossible to make a fun one.

Which it is.

Take GK and Zodiac, for instance. AI can not be programmed well enough to create a real challenge or any noticable diversity within each enemy you fight.

With the tools we have to work with, and the people to employ them, the best possible PvE server would be still much much less fun than any other free MMORPG available for play.

Matt 04-26-2007 05:16 PM

In my own personal opinion, i like the way Graal Classic used to be.

NeoJenova 04-26-2007 06:51 PM

i rly wanted 2 play versus...

That's not completely true. There are a few ways of executing this that I haven't seen anybody try. Though just in case I attempt them, I won't say more. x_x

Darklux 04-27-2007 01:23 PM

Ah Chandler, you try it again?

You won't give up, will you? ;p But I wish nice luck for the server to you, maybe it works out this time! (hopefully)

I messed with one of the servers that I worked on NPC's, made them shoot me, they were SO lame.

I could program them to be lame, or just plain hard. It's quite easy, just mess around a bit.
