Does INT effect damage?

Does INT effect magic damage or is that just a rumor because some people say it does and others say it doesn't.

Int is for learning **** mainly and mental stuff. I can't confirm that it affects spell damage.
20 base constitution is all you can do for hit points since most of your gear will be aimed toward magic stats or speed.
Without sacrificing too much Pow, balance speed and dex to get whatever gives the higher speed.

u better get things like dex and speed instead of int

cutelilmurderer 04-23-2007 07:23 AM

I don't think it does, I mean I could have all kinds of INT gear on and still not be able to kill certain monsters in single hits (even at a really high level INT!).

Gothika 04-23-2007 07:26 AM

Thats why I don't see the point in maxing my natural INT.

MasterNuke 04-23-2007 09:27 AM

Int just happens to come with Rings of Elrond, Sash of Clarity, and Crown of Power. Chances are if you have high Pow, you have high Int too.

Ravenblade1979 04-23-2007 03:00 PM

I thought INT just helped you learn things better.

It doesn't have any known direct effect on combat.

Heh didn't think so. Does INT help you with personality though?

I think Cha helps with personality.

Felix_Xenophobe 04-23-2007 05:27 PM

i leveled my personality with 3 charisma ;o.

Draenin 04-23-2007 06:41 PM

Having 3 cha doesn't mean you can't level personality.

Int has a direct effect on things like alchemy, woodlore, learning, item identification, and so on. It doesn't affect magic power. That's what power is for. (As well as for raising max mana / grace points.)

Felix_Xenophobe 04-23-2007 06:51 PM

I must have forgotten to post the rest.
I leveled personality to 16 with 3 charisma on Felix_Xenophobe. Then got the exact same amount of exp (and it didn't take longer for me to control the monster) when I leveled personality with 15 charisma on my alt. account.
What I'm saying is that the stat Charisma doesn't help leveling the skill Personality.

CABAL49 04-24-2007 02:56 AM

Wouldn't it make sense if Charisma and Personality were more directly related?

As far as I know, it ups the rate at which you successfully orate, as well as lowering shop prices.

Felix_Xenophobe 04-24-2007 03:09 PM

Seems to me that all it does is lowering the shop prices. Personality wasn't upped at all by having higher charisma when I tried it.

I'm going to throw this out there and I have no idea how true it is or not but do you think that int effects the level of spells you can cast and the success rate of casting them?

pooper200000 04-24-2007 11:34 PM

I have a question! does int/wis affect blessing or is it basically pure luck?

CABAL49 04-25-2007 12:31 AM

I belive it is wisdom AND luck.

I don't think so but high int will mean you'll be able to cast more times.

We know that luck helps, and we're pretty sure that grace helps. We don't really know whether or not wisdom has its own independent effect.

cutelilmurderer 04-26-2007 05:13 AM

Charisma and personality are detrimental to each other. They go hand in hand because the more charisma you have the easier it is to charm an animal without using magic spells. You could also have an easier time charming monsters of higher levels than you with more charisma.

Try using one of the perfumes on yourself with a maxed charisma level and then go monster charming, you could make armies in seconds. Of course with higher personality also, you can charm multiple monsters at once in the higher levels of the skill tree.

Charisma is totally important to monster armies.

INT is mostly for learning skills and spells it seems. Though it does not help you directly in combat, it helps give you a wider selection of destructive spells at your disposal; essentially making it easier to kill enemies with.

You can not charm certain monsters like Bigworm with anything less than 20 charisma, and even then it is a difficult task if your personality is below level 15.

No. Int affects how well you learn them. What determines how much you can cast spells is how much SP you can hold.

Int, no. Wis, yes. Luck is a larger factor, though. While testing one day, I tried out a wis +10 amulet while praying over an altar, and would get messages more often when I had it on. However, I also tried the same method using a ring with luck +255, and every message I got while praying over the altar was a success message.

Int does not affect SP. It affects success rates of things that work in the mental category of levelling.

Oh, I thought it gave more SP like how wis gives more Grace.

I know this is a few days old but where do you get rings of luck +255?

Kingdoms Debug.

Power gives Spell Point and Grace not int.

Gothika 04-30-2007 12:13 AM

20 natural power, grace and dex is all you need to be a good mage.

A good balance between power, speed, and damage mitigation makes a better mage.
Power for more spellpoints.
Speed for well... speed.
Damage mitigation includes AC and resists. No point in using magic if the person you're fighting can blast your health down with his/her magic faster than you can blast their's.
