Hacker increase
 

Am i the only one seeing the increase in hackers? Used to be just 1 every week or so. Now there like 3 a day. Who thinks we should start doing ip bans?
Also, I'm starting a list of hacker accounts i have seen and wish people to add to it on this thread. just type account and what they did.

IP bans are the reason why the hackers keep returning after being bant.

Someone made a hack and put it on a website that allows you (the player) to bypass IP bans. So Gambet should probably be givin the rights for account bans, or comp id bans. (Comp ID is what I would suggest, this way they cant just make a new acc)

Hackers arnt that major of a problem, i don't see how they are "destroying" anything, there basicly lamers. People who use cheats to give themselves an edge because they can't fight real.

Giving Gambet rights is fine and dandy, but he would be the only person trusted with those rights, and Gambet is not on 24/7 and it can't always be proved.

I can do all types of banning except for ip bannings, but ip bannings are a thing of the past.

It doesn't even matter anymore, I can't keep people off of the server. They use that computer ID changing program and log back on another trial account. That doesn't mean I won't try, but sometimes it's rather pointless. Regardless, it's hard to catch hackers when I have to walk around the entire map to find the person. Apparently I'm trusted with ban rights but not warp rights? I don't know what's up with that.

Trust us ET's ;). Believe me, the dozens of players posted on "User Reports" in staff discussion are hackers, guarenteed.
Also, if ET's /lock HackerX command didn't last for only an hour, it would be much easier to deal with them.

And to quote huwa, quoting Stefan, he doesn't care.. So yea, where boned. Ive always thought as Zone as more of a communaty anyway, the players cause the problems, they players help fix the problems. Some do try and help, but posting pictures of people and giving there accounts is about as far as it goes. Maybe you need to dig deeper into this, find out if there is a way to prevent the hacks completely.

This is going to sound funny but for 3 or 4 hackers I have asked them not to and theyve stopped as long as Ive been around. I dunno. im not saying that always works but if im nice enough it usually does. its painfully nice though...

I wouldn't take there word lightly. They see you as a staff possition, they hear you say stop and think "OHCRAP HE GONNA BAN US!" then stop. But later on when your not around they continue. Happened to me, this kid was locked and was telling everyone how to do the hack, so i pretended to be full of authority, and calmly gave him empty threats that his punishment would be longer if he told people. So he stopped, then 2 hours later i caught him hacking a long side someone he told how to O_o, manipulative little...

Let's keep the hacker/trainer use threads, and chatter off the forums. Use the support center, or contact admins for Zone, like you are suppose to.
