Small Crystal of Mana: 3 gypsum, 3 mercury (1-3 crystals)

Big Crystal of Mana: 7 gypsum, 3 small crystal of mana, 1 block of fixed mercury (1-3 big crystals)

and for the love of all that is holy, NO water of diamond.

If you want to make it difficult, make it drain from the player the amount of mana that the crystal would normally restore, like scribing a scroll.

Wouldn't the materials there end up costing more than actually buying them from the shop up in igloo town?

Yeah but have you seen the recipe for golden yarn.

Yes, but you can't just go to the store and buy an Aurum garb, you can go to the store and buy mana crystals though.

Unless this was offset by making multiple mana crystals per alchemy (similar to how water of the wise, and various dusts work) , it's not a good value.
