Just need a tutor/mentor, anyone?

I'm not asking for anyone to come over IRL and test me or teach me, I'm just asking if someone would be willing to teach me GS2 in Forum PMs, like assignments and stuff. I already know how to edit SOME scripts, not guarenteeing ALL. I can't MAKE them on my own.

You can come learn with Stan, I'm teaching him scripting as well. :)

He rarely approaches me with need of basics. When he asked to make a mud system and the like, i assumed he knew them ^^. As of late, I fear I help him to cheat on Kristi's homework >_<.

I am a lousy teacher though. I normally encourage him to work out problems for himself. I also link him to the wiki alot. Spoon feeding is not my kind of thing.

Shhhh, Hell Raven mustn't find out. ;[

Hell Raven hasn't had much time to teach me as of late, I'm afraid I must stop using his time so much as he's very busy with classic.

Hahaha rofl. Im also helping out Stan with basics, or rather - letting him script on Mythic and tell me whats wrong/could be improved on his scripts.

Hmm, that explains that yesterday he told me to read it for my answers (didn't really help a lot though)... :asleep:

OK now godofwares isn't helping me 'cause he's busy fixing things. All I've learned now was Params & Arrays XD

You need to understand the basics of object-oriented programming itself before you advance. IMO, the three basics are Objects, Functions, and Variables.
Variables to store data, Objects to organize data, and Functions to manipulate data.

Organize data, riiight...

What?

That's the whole point of OO. A Better model of the real world.

Well they can.
PHP Code:

this.food = new TStaticVar();
this.food.fruit = new TStaticVar();
this.food.fruit.pear.whatever
this
.food.fruit.peach.whatever
...

and so forth ^^. Another example could be a container system. OO allows for better constructs of code and for easy reading.

killerogue 04-01-2007 11:47 PM
