Problem with large threads

So far I've only noticed it with the People Picture Thread but I think you should
update the forums so that the page links don't extend out into infinity.

**** AND DIE

But on a more serious note. I whole heartily agree. :)

zell12 03-10-2007 12:17 AM

I think someone already made a thread about this, also, post in tech support?

And yes, it is very very annoying.

Devil 03-10-2007 02:06 AM

I hate it aswell!

Demisis_P2P 03-10-2007 02:26 AM

I think we should leave it, as a kind of keepsake.

That's for posts rather then the threads. I tried it anyway, no luck.

Edit: Aha.. it's the option after that, which cuts them down to size, but you can't see any threads past last year (It goes up to page 16 in the main forum).

Would be nice if we had something like the picture below. The page numbers
are confined to a certain space and page numbers show based on what page
you're on.

theHAWKER 03-11-2007 09:04 AM

i notice in ur pic that the numbers go from 293 to 333...

That is sort of the point of it... to limit the amount of numbers shown.

It'll show a couple near the beginning, then several that are close to the page you are viewing, then a couple towards the end.

I see no such thing.

Ok changed the "Number of Pages Visible in Page Navigator" in General Settings to 10. It can be quite confusing in big threads because it is displaying shortcuts to thread 50, 100 etc. or so, but seems to work fine.

Correction 03-14-2007 10:29 PM

I can't believe you can't have it just wrap to the next line....

I'm sure people would love having 20 rows of page numbers.

I am sure if you ask 10 persons you'll get 8 different answers. I think everbody can live with the current version.

smirt362 03-14-2007 11:54 PM

Thanks.

According to the original screenshot you'd need over 94 pages to get to only three rows... I don't think that would be a problem.

If you really do care about this - I'd say you're being a whiny girl. This works just fine, anyways.

Correction 03-15-2007 04:51 AM

I don't. I'm just saying...
It's not like I had to put in a whole lot of research and strenuous calculation to multiply 47 by 2.

Right, I wasn't really saying that you cared a lot because you did the math - you just seem persistent in your posting. But I'm human, and to be human is to err.

Infernix 03-15-2007 04:56 AM

So how does it work? I was hoping for like it to show the first 10 pages then when it gets past that it should have last after it...then after another 10 pages it should have 1-10,20,Last...if you get what Im talkin about it.

You can see an example of it here.
