Terestria level :D

Heres a level smirt whacked together with our new tiles, ive got a few more tiles to do so there arent any bugs. Most of the tiles are just the basics, only the floor and wall are closest to finish.

:D!

It's just a plain level x-x

I mean, the whole elevated floor bit looks nice, but the rest is rather plain.

Crono 03-01-2007 12:55 AM

nice tiles

DARKVILLIN 03-01-2007 12:56 AM

kinda boring :(

maximus_asinus 03-01-2007 12:59 AM

I can see how the raised tiles could be used for traps in dungeons. Very nice.

I hope to see MORE tiles next screenshot.

Tom 03-01-2007 01:01 AM

Yea, its a bit plain, but im so proud of the tiles that i had to post the wuvly level smirt made :P

smirt362 03-01-2007 01:01 AM

I don't have much to work with yet, but I'll pretty them up as I get some new tiles :p
The pillars and stairs aren't done yet, so ignore them.

Are those supposed to be cracks in the tiles? They look more like little squiggly hairs on my monitor...

I sure hope you plan to add some color in there somewhere... right now it looks like the tiles could be in a gameboy game...

the original gameboy.

I think tom's doing something right now to make it not look so monotone.

Mykel 03-01-2007 01:39 AM

Looks nice. =) Although you definitely need some more "detail tiles" and a bit more color. Keep up the good work.

Kittah 03-01-2007 01:49 AM

I second the colour thing, as well as the possibility of a touch more contrast. Otherwise the tiles look hawt and I'll hopefully have some examples of my work to show you tonight :p

Aknts 03-01-2007 02:17 AM

I like the tileset you have working.

Devil 03-01-2007 02:27 AM

It looks ok.. on the first one, there are missing tiles because when there is elevated floors, you shouldn't have the floor tiles running up the side of the steps like that.

Shame about the name of the server though.

Tom 03-01-2007 03:20 AM

Lol i didnt make the name.

And i agree with lack of colour, im actually considering just using the graal tileset and giving it a heavy duty make over. As my colours are really dull when im stressed, and im always stressed with college ^_^

Infernix 03-01-2007 03:41 AM

Blah at the colors, show us something more lively. And done be afraid to throw in piece from those other 30 tilesets you never finished.

Don't be dissing your ancestory. Gameboy's are the best!.

Rufus 03-01-2007 06:49 AM

You've got nice tiles, they might be a little boring but you've taken them a different route and used a different angle, great; but for some reason I really dislike the "elevated" floors. I'm really not sure what it is, perhaps the colors, lack of shadows, lack of contrast, lack of details, I don't know, but the floors don't look very elevated to me.

My advice is to keep them as seperate tiles for use with pics1 in the server. What I mean to say is, use them as a seperate tileset but bring them more in line with the style of the standard Graal tiles (ie. blacklining, more contrast) and use the tiles for palaces or dungeons instead of the shoddy pics1 style tiles.

Basic thing is that they're a beautiful set of tiles and if you could bring them in line with pics1's style while still retaining that beauty, you'll have an amazing set of palace or dungeon tiles to use in your playerworld.

zell12 03-01-2007 06:25 PM

You should have more color dude... plain white levels are pffft like so 2 days ago.

PrinceDark 03-02-2007 01:53 AM

I like the layout of the second level smirt posted, but the stairs just don't seem right in comparison with the walls. The floors aren't too bad. The cracks could have been drawn better. Just the walls are ughh. Maybe too bright, too .... plain maybe. Something about them. Nice level, just the gfx are dull.
