First pixel art

Yeah, I created this in like 10-15 minutes.
It's not all that amazing, but I think I helped me improve some basic techniques such as shading and blending.

Something that was really hard for me was the transition between the sand and the water, and I still don't think I got it right.

I realize my line art is absolutely horrible on the waves, but honestly, I had no idea what to draw, so I just drew some random shape, and it looked like a wave, so I went off of that.

It's actually pretty good for your first piece of artwork. I really like the transition between the sand and water. :] But yeah the tidal waves are 'yuck'. XD

You're making the mistake a lot of new artists make - that being they split scenes in objects. What I mean by that is you have split all of the waves into seperate objects, even going so far as to isolate them from the water (which they're part of.

You need to remember that, while mentally a wave is a very defined object, when it comes to visuals it part of the ocean, not suddenly appearing and stopping, but slowly forming to a peak and then again cutting back into the ocean.

e: However, you did a nice job with colors/definition. What I mean is instead of using black outlines and such you separated it with the base color. Always a nice choice, in my opinion.
