Terestria
Hey, im not expecting many people will help me anymore as in the past i've let down alot of people with many projects. But ive been working on my own on this server idea and im determined to finish this.
So onto the server, im in need of a skilled NAT, one who can is pretty familier with the particle system. A reasonably good gani artist, i say a reasonably good gani artist because when objects move and arent animated correctly they look them. The server itself doesnt really have a story line at the moment, but ive been concerntrating on the battle system alone, the battle systems revolves around some of the earths elements, earth, fire, water and wind. Being able to control them, increasing your skills in a certain element. I feel that alot of the servers tend to work really hard on their tileset so it looks better than everyone elses, and they tend to just create realyl basic boring battle systems. Examples would be Maloria and Zodiac [No offense] But its just another hack and slash which gets really boring. Also, no server has ever gone for a really cinematic approach to their servers, spells that as supposed to be really powerful, they do say 1000 damage? They just dont look like it. But using particles and random effects i want to create a really powerful atmosphere so people can really get into the feel of a battle. Here are a few GUIs i slapped up the other day, [The image has been minimised by photobucket a little so the qualitys a little bad, but you cans till make out what it looks like] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...dev/t_guis.png The little exp part is pretty random, but when the bar is full you get 1 star. When you have all the stars you level up and so forth. I just thought it was a little different :P You can also win stars in quests, events and trade your stars. I hope some people are interested as i really want to get stuck into this project with a good team, instead of what i used to do and try and make things myself. Thanks for reading all this! |
Looks good, but yeah, you're credibility is a tad shot.
|
Again, another server with a lot of potential, but with your track record things won't be easy. If you're serious about it this time around, show the people your dedication.
|
If you want some power ganis, contact me. This idea isn't bad.

Yes I ignored the rest of your post just for that, and yes I'm one of the people you mentioned that just thinks you're going to drop this project too just like all the other ones you were "Determined to Finish". Good luck + whatever you'll probably need it. |
I'd do some scripting for this, I like your graphical ability!
|
Tom I don't want to insinuate anything, because I know the idea wasn't exactly original on our part either, but is it a coincidence that you are staff on Delteria Dev and we have something very similar to this planned?

Mm, GUIs do look pretty good so far, somethings missing though, can't put my finger on it but it could use a little more detail I think, make a little easier on the eyes, or maybe it's just photobucket like you said.

But the ideas pretty largly based of a gameboy ds game called lost magic :P Quote:

Looks neat tom. Good luck finding staff; you're a bit late on the search, back at the bottom again. About 5,892,456 others player-worlds doing the same, sadly.

the sidescroller is a bad idea and just alot of work :)! |

hmmm as i said
too much work for me alone :) backgrounds, different tiles, sprites, icons, and trees, many other things... thats too much for one person, dont you think? |
You have to be positive or else nothing will get done!

On a side note: No matter how uncontrollable Elk is or unfocused as Tom is I think they will finish this server. I really and truly think that Tom will finish this time. :o |

E: On a more serious note it is much easier (if you have the know-how) to script an entire server than it is to pixel one, pixel-pixel-pixel. Being that one server non classic style takes over 100 or more pixeled graphics. Picture that first. Then the many terrain tilesets Elk would have to do for a sidescroller. Including the background images. Player and enemy sprites as well. Pixel-by-pixel. Scripters tend to overrate the ease and what it takes to GFX something. Tho Ziro I know you GFX, but as an example my own scripter tends to get impatient with me if he wants me to draw something for a script forgetting he doesn't know what it's like or what it takes to pixel an image or two that require a lot of detail. :) |

And Elk did have Tom working along with him, or he would have if they didn't decide to be *****s and not working together on the side scroller. |

Elk and Tom working on 1 project? Well Im glad I didnt get my hopes up about this. You pretty much must finish to server or were all gonna clown on your two for being failures....AGAIN.
Much love though. |
