Severe Lagg

This can be moved, but it has still got no attention. There have been numerous threads created in the server maintence forum, but not responded to. We have all created numerous tickets explaining the problem. There is severe lagg on many servers. It makes it imposible to script. Can someone please fix this? Stefan said he saw no lagg, however he was on the server for 3 seconds. So please we have done everything stated in rules and no action has been taken. Thanks

It is on an off for me. As of now, I am not getting that lag anymore. There was a similar lag problem with Zone that Stefan just fixed (due to another npcserver crashing the machine). Maybe this was related to the other problems?

Yes, this is getting extremely ridiculous and the servers need to be moved over to a new computer. I can't even continue developing because the server reads updates very strangely and this lag is unbearable.

We shouldn't have to suffer due to other servers lagging us.

Dumb question - tried UDP?

I think they mean lag between the Gserver and NPC server. A while back, I had a similar problem. When I updated an NPC, it didn't update on my client until I reconnected.

That happened to me when I was working with GuiControls. Now I just do
PHP Code:

if (window_name != NULLwindow_name.destroy();
new
GuiWindowCtrl(window_name) {

The lag isn't only on player, it is on RC too. Sometimes it take a while just to load comments.

I've had the same problem about 3 times before in the past few days, I HATE when I'm working and I can't save :(

Yes, we will give every playerworld thier own server. That should solve the problem! :rolleyes:

I didn't say that at all. If you even gave the situation any sort of thought, you wouldn't have made that blantantly foolish remark.

You do realise that was sarcasm, right?

zell12 02-07-2007 10:24 PM

Let me get this straight. You don't want to be affected by other servers lagging you. You want Zone on a separate computer or something, from what I can get out of that comment. I don't think so Tim, that's not the way to solve this problem.

Maybe if Nemesis was still around, or if the GST wasn't useless, there wouldn't be these problems. Even better, safe-guards to detect problems like this on servers and automatically kill the NPC-Server to prevent further damage.

You do realize that he was drawing a conclusion to my statement, which was incorrect, right?

No, I want the effected servers to be moved to a non-effected computer.

zell12 02-07-2007 10:42 PM

That's not the way to solve the problem, it takes time to do that, and probably a lot of it depending what servers are affected by this problem. I believe some of them are in the US or different places aren't they? :/

A lot quicker to just fix the problem, and be done with it.

Infernix 02-07-2007 10:45 PM

Dont hate on Graal Pentium 3 500mhz servers.

Stefan said he was going to get unixmad to move the servers or something of the sort. Problem is, we don't know when, or if he's even talked to unixmad about it.

zell12 02-07-2007 11:24 PM

It's not the first time this has happened either. Graal itself has been down for days at a time. Just be glad you can still login and talk to your buddies.

I will state it again, that was sarcasm.
Smilies tend to give hints.
