Spring Celebration: Jan 28, 2007

In honor of the return of spring to the Archipelago, Dustari will play host to a Spring Celebration next week Sunday. Members of all Kingdoms are welcome to attend, and food will be served. This event will be held within and around the Dustari Cathedral. Anyone who does not know where the Cathedral is located may feel free to ask for directions.

Take some time to relax and converse with those you may not normally run into during the course of your day, as you eat a wide array of different foods.

The time for this event is not set in stone yet, so if anyone has some suggestions about when in the day to hold it, post them below.

The snow is gone from the archipelago. Doesn't matter whether it's warm and sunny in reality. :p

Spring? January 28? o_o;

Butz 01-24-2007 06:49 PM

I'm tentatively going to say 4 PM Eastern Time for now.
That would make it 1 PM Pacific Time
As well as it being 9 PM GMT (Sorry)

It's the best time I could think of that would cover the widest spread of people being awake or available at the time.

You know earth is not a disc, right? Also the earth go around the sun what makes the seasons. And so if its winter in one country its summer in the country on the opposite side of earth.

ZuperZeb42 01-25-2007 07:40 PM

Ooooh Damn. I was convinced that the earth was a DVD. Meh. 9PM x.x

Us Brits always are left out of things like this =(

Yes but, Seasons only change depending if you are on the northern or southern hemisphere. And they sift to the opposite season...Right now it is winter for people on the north hemisphere. That means it should be Summer for those on the south side. Not spring ;)

Culturally and architecturally perhaps, but that still doesn't change the fact that as far as the seasons go on GK, the snow is gone until next year.

Ah true. I just assumed since it snowed all over GK during our normal winter (december/january specifically), that spring would be celebrated with easter or something.

But whatever, hope it's fun. I don't really play GK enough though...I really should.

Ravenblade1979 01-28-2007 05:08 PM

Zeb ur in dusty? my event is the dusty only one but i may invite some other ppl for fun

ZuperZeb42 01-28-2007 08:55 PM

Oh right, I'm not in Dusty. But I missed that event. I'm going to the main one at my 9PM >_<

Butz 01-30-2007 11:45 PM

The event went off as scheduled, and had a rather large turnout, but of course fell prey to the habit of most graalians to get more enjoyment out of causing trouble for others rather than going along with what's happening.
Granted, things did not go smoothly, but it did also bring to light that Dustari has a real problem with its current recruiting standards.
The citizenship has ballooned in recent weeks, but this isn't always a good thing, as we can see from a few members who were removed after this event, that there is no sort of quality control going on. There needs to be some sort of test to make sure someone is at least mature enough to handle themselves as a representative of Dustari before they're given the tag to wear.

Ravenblade1979 01-31-2007 03:27 AM

I will work on that Shawn.
