A simple fix would be to shorten the trunk.

I dunno why I'm not a graphics guy but that dead trunk is awful. It just looks disproportionate and odd.

it does, indeed, look quite odd.

Yea, not bad - but I'd still only shorten the trunk.

Zideruic 01-13-2007 11:31 PM

Not only this but the roots should go from being thick to thin, not thin to thin...just weird.

Em 01-14-2007 04:02 AM

I think the tree is heavy on the left side. Maybe add something on the right for visual balance ? Possibly a limb on the lower right.

Devil 01-14-2007 04:07 AM

Shorten it, and you've got a winner in my books.

I believe they're called weeping willows - they usually lean to one side.

Gambet 01-14-2007 07:45 AM

Looks odd and unbalanced to me.

Yeah, like everybody else has said, trunk needs to be shorter for it to appear to be in perspective. Nice work nonetheless.

maximus_asinus 01-16-2007 04:34 AM

It looks like someone needs to look at Victor's tutorial on making trees...

haha that was the greatest tutorial ever.

@ ziro, make the trunk shorter

Draenin 01-16-2007 04:58 PM

The roots of the stump overlap in a weird place.

Rapidwolve 02-03-2007 02:13 AM

I like it, It could use some touching up though

zell12 02-03-2007 02:20 AM

Trees can be any shape, size, proportion... long as you shade it right. Should be a simple task. There is no correct way to make a tree, as long as you shade it right. :/
Yeah, common sense will tell you that branches and roots get smaller as they extent from the trunk. That's a given.

Looks fine in my opinion.

Seeds are usually the best way to start.
