1st Advent - "New" old items

"New" items arrived in Events-Coin-Shop!

Well, it's the first Advent so we thought it would be nice to change the offerings in the EC-Shop.
Now there are available more valuable and rare items.

At the same time we changed the system of the playerhouse scrolls.
You are not in need of the restyle scroll anymore. If someone still has this scroll we'd like to say it's not worthless now. You can convert the scroll to two scrolls of house renovation and either a scroll of house cellar or a scroll of 2nd housefloor.
More informations about that can be found in the shop.

Be surprized about the attractive offers and have a look. ^^

Waltz5 12-03-2006 11:53 PM

Hopefully we see an influx of ECs now... since as the economy stands now you wouldn't want to pay 85 EC's (1700 dias) for AC+4 and graphics (Belzebubs shield) Either that or decrease some of the prices.

It's not hard to predict what will happen, Demon Stone will be bought the most and I can't see anyone buying Gale Armor or Belzebubs Shield.

Draenin 12-04-2006 12:07 AM

Don't remove the old stuff, please. A lot of it was really helpful.

Either expand the shop, or make it like every other shop. Where they rotate so some things are even harder still to get.

Draenin 12-04-2006 01:13 AM

It would be nice if the shop was just expanded. I've actually been thinking of resubscribing for this.

CidNight1142 12-04-2006 01:14 AM

85 EC's? Lord...

Chris 12-04-2006 01:53 AM

Black Guard Helmet, Phoenix Helmet & shield shouldn't be in there to craft. They were rare event items for a reason. Now you're going to flood these items out to everyone.

50 ECs for a Phoenix Helmet isn't exactly "flooding it out to everyone".

It'll certainly be more available than before. As for the demon stone, it will be. 12 ecs for it? Wow.

Draenin 12-04-2006 02:06 AM

It's actually rather nice that the Demon Stone is affordable, though. I mean, there were how many out there before?

Comparing it to the other items though I think many players feel it should be much higher.

Draenin 12-04-2006 02:26 AM

It would be nice if Gale got to keep its original stats.

myth-simba 12-04-2006 02:36 AM

I'm more happy about the drop in house scroll prices. although i doubt getting staff to upload often will be easy. But shouldn't take too long i hope.

Its frustrating, my house is finally perfect the way i managed it and extending it out would ruin it. But i really really want a mansion!
I'll probably just try and sneak a tiny corridoor near the end of it and lead it to the bunker and stairs.

It will still set you back 1000 diamonds worth of ECs, and new Phoenix Helmets (and Shields) were originally supposed to be evented off every year.

Draenin 12-04-2006 07:26 AM

It might make stuff less rare to have them featured in the EC shop, but it also makes the item more available in the long run, and that usually means less of a headache to go through to get what you want.

CidNight1142 12-04-2006 08:07 AM

The only people who will be against this are those who are already ridiculously rich.

I'm for anything that could potentially deflate the price of any item over the 1-2 RoW range.

It's not like there is no legitimate economic argument against this. You could say, for example, that rather than the price of the items that can now be made falling, all the will happen is that the price of Event Coins will rise based on the current value of the items (for example if Phoenix Helmet is currently worth 1500 diamonds, rather then falling to 1000 diamonds, the price of Event Coins will go up to 30 diamonds) and therefore pull up the value of all the other items crafted using Event Coins (In other words, inflation).

Obviously you have to exempt Demon Stone from this argument or else it becomes ridiculous, but this is a very real possibility unless the Event Coin supply is increased substantially.

Draenin 12-04-2006 08:50 AM

Or the EC price could stay the same, considering that the people who had some of these items have quit for some time now. I mean, I own a phoenix shield, and I really don't care that they're 50 ECs now. It just makes it easier for me to get it back if I lose mine or trade it off.

Logically, that's what should happen to the ECs, but it might not. However, the fact that this is new will probably cause it to inflate a slight bit, sort of like with Elronds. But once copies start to get out or more events are held, the values will go down again.

The demand will go up, but the price might not since ECs are pretty "sticky" in terms of price. Increasing the supply of ECs just decreases the risk.

Sam 12-04-2006 10:54 AM

Supply and demand causing the value of EC's and diamonds.
We know its not possible to make everyone happy. We didn't say that this offer will last now for the next years.
But I am sure it is not impossible to gain 85 EC's. The EM-Team will host very soon more events to gain EC's, but we do not give them out in raffles. A little work must be done for it.

lordbosh 12-04-2006 01:44 PM

If you add another christmas upgrade, have like 50 ecs in the package. I dont mind everyone having good things :)

Draenin 12-04-2006 03:16 PM

If RDA / BDA ever go in, don't make them anything below 100. That's about what they're worth.

cyan3 12-04-2006 04:40 PM

I dont think much will change, Most people dont want to buy EC's to get good items so i think it will stay the same. And EC's are hard to get now unless more events get hosted.

In November we gave 43 EC's to the winners and much more stuff like diamonds, scrolls to improve weapons and armour, treasure maps etc.
The EM team consists of 5 members, this is more than 10% of the average player count.

myth-simba 12-04-2006 05:05 PM

I'm all for the ec items. The thing is I strongly believe all items should not be rare. i think every rare item should be put into ec shop at the value of the item. Why? why not? Hell i had black mail armour when it was super rare. It doesn't bother me if players have the same items as me at all. I'm more of a practical player you see.

Graal has too few items to have 2 of a kind items. If it wants to do that it should at least have a minimum of 700 amazing items and another 500 easily, obtainable but pretty good items in an old fashion monster dropping manor.

Uh, yeah they do. I got ECs to get my Sigil and Speed Ammy and such back when they were still there.

I didint meen it like that.

And Chris if GK didint have rare items (2 of a kind) the game will have a rubbish ecomany, I think items should be rare just not really rare.

hampy 12-04-2006 05:58 PM

Uhm now people just wont sell ECs x_x this is stupid...

What you really mean is that things should be hard to get, but not impossible to get.

EC's are currency. They'll still get passed along like normal.

This statistic is so irrelevant that it makes me suspect you might be trying to trick people into believing that EMs are 10% of the playerbase.

No I dont try to trick anybody. It's impossible for me to say anything about playerbase, but everybody knows how many people playing on GK these days. I am sure most of the users here understand what I meant.

MasterNuke 12-04-2006 11:24 PM

Umm... lower prices or more ECs from events. That's all I have to say.

Felix_Xenophobe 12-04-2006 11:50 PM

If I attend to every event held in my timezone i'll have a belzebub in 2 years. go me

Drakeero 12-05-2006 05:04 AM

I strongly suspect that this will work out much much more poorly then the staff hopes.

CidNight1142 12-05-2006 05:28 AM

It's a little bit of a copout in terms of content additions. But then again, the adding of old items has been used as a copout for content additions for years. It's sort of a tradition by now.

I didn't mind them adding the black gaurd helmet or most the other stuff. But I think they should have left the phoenix set out of it. Because that's still a common set. I know a few people who have it. Now that it's craftable the price of it is going to drop and those people are going to be pissed.

Ravenblade1979 12-05-2006 05:15 PM

God I apologize to everyone on last night. my gf's mom came home and demanded the comp. I will do a double event today to make up for it.

MadScience7 12-05-2006 07:02 PM

Those of us that were there, but have to work during the day, demand a redo about the same time tonight :)

Yeah, the choice of items is really stupid, and the prices x_x
