Tell me what you think.:) (added a new pic look at that too)

Spiker 11-23-2006 01:23 AM

Looks like the tree's are spaced the same, road looks the same width, yeah. Its ok, just make the tree's spaced more, and the path vary from width

Crono 11-23-2006 01:24 AM

Don't use pre-defined roads, learn how to connect trees

Learn how to detail better.

I think it's better than your old work though. :)

colin012 11-23-2006 01:38 AM

Thanks

I have tried conecting trees but I can't get rid of the grass or the brown legs... Tell me how I have been wondering sence I started leveling. Oh and thanks that tells me I don't reak any more!

Infernix 11-23-2006 02:42 AM

WOW,so what did your old work look like?

ryu_no_bishie 11-23-2006 04:30 AM

this deffinatly sucks, not entirely mind you but its like drawing a perfect cube, big deal, theres nothing special about it, its not interesting, i know the tile system in graal is vexingly limited, but try to make something interested its good to see that you have nothing wrong in it that i can see like tile errors.

OMG HE SAID IT SUCKS OOOO BURN!!!

But ahh to be serious, just learn how to put the damn tiles together 1 by 1 and eventually youll figure out quick ways to make levels that well...ya know...look nice. Instead of using that predefined BS.

not by my experiance, making levels is a long and boaring process with the tyle system.

Maybe the lack of a tyle system is why.. but I don't see how this tile system is bad.. it's fine.

Download this level and have a look, see if it helps you :)

It's just a simple set of trees grouped together, nothing special.

The guy is obviously new to this, so I'm sorry he couldn't produce an outstanding level that met your standards, ass.

experience, boring , tile >_<

But for someone with your experience it looks mediocre. Stay away from the predefined paths, and learn how to connect trees like Crono said. Go over your levels for tile errors before you show everyone too.

zim5354 11-23-2006 09:41 AM

dont use a path gen they are pretty ugly :( but you are getting better congrads

it lacks true curved blockable objects, you have to use npcs, although im not entirely sure if the npcs work either.

If you dont use setshape on them, it will work. But I really dont think that its boring to make levels oO I am just unmotivated sometimes :D

lol, Ever try to created a entire OW? Cause only then do you realize what long and boring is.

MysticX2X 11-24-2006 07:41 AM

collin, Dont use predefined tiles and path generator. You can also use the grass path instead of its 4 sides all together everywhere. But keep it up and you will be good.

Haha, reading this thread I was thinking the exact same thing.

Man, look in the 'Select Tile' option, and try to find groups of tiles that go nicely togethor... Ones that go togethor usually arent located too far apart from each other.

Other then grouping tree's togethor, I don't think I can say much more, as a lot has been told to you alreay. =p

Good job though, group trees and show us.

zell12 11-24-2006 07:59 AM

Someone should make a level with all the different sorts of combinations of tiles, like the cliffs, trees, paths, waters, etc

I don't see any level in any of those tutorials that have what I suggested? You trying to raise your post count or something?

to the creator of this thread, HIGHLY recommend learning the tileset. It's the only way you're going to get good. As for trees, refer to attatchment.

neet, so thats how, i always use npcs though, they are better in that you can walk behind the trees

michael7849 11-25-2006 03:18 AM

nice and you have gotten better also like many ppl said use more more undefined object connecting trees and npcs BUT rememeber npcs dont make the level you do

no, npcs don't connect like that.

if you want to walk behind the trees connect the trees normally then use setimgpart. it looks a lot nicer!
