Ugh..

I got told not to bother, but it's worth a try.

We are looking for level makers to detail Elven Lands _old_ levels and bring them close to the standards that are required on Graal.

Edit - I also wouldn't mind seeing if someone would help out with a tileset.. that would be nice.

This is probably what someone told you already but taking a server like Elven Lands and changing it's levels completely takes away from what the server was. That server was based about the community it held and the levels it had, take away what it has and it's not even Elven Lands anymore.

This is going to be one of those Tasks, next month, when you look at your progress, youll stop.

We converted only about a fifth of the npcs to gs2, from hawlor outward, levels and all, before it got so daunting that we stopped.

On the off chance you could get a group togather that could really pull it off, it wouldnt be EL anymore because things are way too different now, the community that made EL just dosent exist and a ton of new people cant remake that feeling.

Though i wish you good luck on your endevour, and if i come across my converted levels, ill be happy to pass them along.

Yeah I understand that, but we didn't want to change everything, just detail the levels some more. Not totally change them.

Andy : That would be good mate, add me on AIM sometime.

But EL did have some interesting content, if you managed to get a dedicated team together, it would be interesting to see a modernized (updated) EL, tune up the levels, impliment some of the new script function and whatnot. It could be pretty interesting.

Yup this server wont make it. Seeing as kuji has been trying to pull of this one for how long. Even with someone helping him.

Sorry I had read that wrong. x_x I thought it said you were looking for someone to "lat" old levels. xD

Im just saying let this server rest in peace. If you want to completely remake it, then just make up a new server.

Hey calm it k? I never got into it because I never could grab LAT's that were good. Oasa and I were the only ones doing stuff.

Anyway, Disturbed Limit aimed me and said I should revive it and he'd help (in some way =!)

So then I uploaded the content, and then... Devil logged on and asked to help so I made him LAT.

If I have a 2-3 LAT Team that works... this project will be pie.

o please, with the low amount of decent lats and in fact developers over all on graal creating a good server is in noway "pie" as you call it.

Pie as in remaking it.. only prob w/ it is levels. I can do the scripts myself, and fast.. because they are basically basic. Most complex it goes is shadow knight's staff tools =! lol.

By todays standards there is going to be a **** load more things other than the levels that are going to need improvement. The entire server is going to need to be revamped with old and new.

Take note to the last 2k1 revival, they just brought the server back to what it was. Didn't last for very long.

The release (even lance said) shouldn't of happened but they said Stefan pressured him to do it... so?

There will be new things, just wait and help out

Because they didn't add updates and stuff for us to spend money on.

I'd love too, but he hasn't been on in a while =(.

Biggest problem (outside of designing levels) is to figure out how some levels will go on the gmap, we will most likely expand upon the current levels etc.

I'm just saying that if you want to change it fully, then change the name and think of new ideas. Calling it elven lands wont make it any cooler.

Mystic has a point, you're basically changing everything already, might as well change the name and stop trying to get cheap playercount with a Legendary Server Name.

Who said changing everything.. wtf? All we are doing is using the old levels on a gmap as well as making new levels to it to keep it up.

We are also rescripting npcs.

Then you'll soon realize that those levels make a crappy GMAP o_O;. They don't flow at all lol, that was the charm of EL.

Maybe to you it was, but I generated a same-sized gmap as the levels width - height and am placing the levels on the gmap ( i did over like 30-40 levels so far ). They will be connecting as they should be, as well as some better linking =P.. and you'll have some new levels etc..

Honestly im not interested in hearing any more about this project

If you uploaded EL just as it was right now, with nothing else, it would be awesome. Though here is the problem

in this day and age EL would be comparable to almost every server on the Playerlist now, Npulse, Delteria, even Babylon.

The server presents nothing new or interesting that people need and want to be brought to a server

I wouldnt even compare to any of those servers. I just dont understand why people dont relize how ****ty older servers are when you try to play them at this day and time.

But P.S.. G2k1 is being revived omgiawd?!

I don't mean you can't connect them, I mean the level's tiling, it doesn't flow very well. It's like taking a bunch of "Eye-Candy" levels from the levels forum and putting them on a GMAP, it just doesn't work. lol

Why? They are not off by much, but yeah.. 5-10 tiles.

It's easy to make a diagnolish line to connect such without ruining much. Some of them were fixed, just wait and see.

Exactly what i mean. You are just changing it, which wouldnt make it any more popular. Looking at it the same structure with updated levels wouldnt make it cooler. Looking at its ideas right now wudnt make me want to play there. Think of new ideas and change the name. What you thought was fun back then isnt fun anymore. Actually nothing is fun on graal. I have yet to see any server revival.

The graal2001 server revival will be good.

Will you be able to present to me a community that rivals that of the old EL?

Niether will Graal2001's revival. You really need to stop thinking about the old players, and find stuff for the new players as well.

There will be all content from old EL w/ the npcs etc.., but there will DEFINITELY be new content as well.

Well last I heard Bomy Lands or 2k1 that Koni was working on was called graal2001 as well.

How can you be so sure? Seriously, you don't even know this person. Did you know he's one of the best LAT's on Graal? Didn't know? Ok then.
