Doragon Koden: See inside thread.
 

Many of you older players remember as server, Doragon Koden. This server was, and is, owned by G_Yoshi. At the time, it was one of the highest anticipated servers on Graal, along with Oasis and Graal2230. Those are long gone, DK is not.

After being stagnant for a number of months (yes, you all thought it was dead for longer, I know), I have consulted with G_Yoshi, as have more members of the old team. We are going to continue DK with motivation, and a determination to succeed.

I am sure most of you have seen amazing thinks from DK, but it has been a lot of work for the team, and actually is a small percentage of a server. Due to the small team, it is hard to get so much done, when such effort is put into every single detail. Because of this, G_Yoshi, has decided to extend staff membership to you, level makers.

The level style is similar to that of Secret of Mana, and posted below is the level kit, which provides you with all of the tools you need for creating wonderful DK levels. We are looking for strong level makers, who can complete assignments on time, have determination, and won't quit on us in the middle of the road (weird phrase, I know). I knoiw many of you are talented, and some of you are working for servers that may not have much of a fate. DK's fate is to the server list, whether some of you agree with me or not.

The tryout:

We are looking for aptitude for working with scripted objects over tiles. Though this isn't an immediate requirement, this would greatly improve one's chances of getting on the team. Using the level kit below, create 2 house levels, and 2 outside levels, linked. Be creative with the kit, a lot of effort was put into it, and it can be used in more ways than you can imagine (no Googi, not for personal pleasure).

I urge you to tryout, the server is pretty, but mostly all that is given is verbal support. We need more people to make this happen, and we will succeed.

That really looks very cool to me. To me, it looks like a more cartoony version of Graal/Secret of Mana (like you said).

I vaguely remember the server. It peeked my interest before it kind of fizzled out.

If you need a server, I have one that I'm not currently using. I could help you out.

This server is bleh to me...Earthbound was cartoony to me and this just looks ugly IMO....looks like your workin hard though.

We now have a server, but G_Yoshi went to bed RIGHT when I was about to ask for his IP to set him up, so he cannot upload anything yet, and I'm about the hit the sack as well.

I really like the cartoony style, the one screenshot of the inside reminded me of Graal Kingdoms, the way the walls are done.

I love this server. Please finish it!!

It's unique to Graal so I definitely give it a thumps up. I hope it finally gets finished. I know how it feels to not be able to finish up a project that I put a lot of work into.

Thank you for the good comments so far. It is nice to see some of the developers giving support, like Koni, Elk, Wan, etc.

But this is also the problem, a lot of verbal support, but no one to actually help us, lol.

Yeah, its bad, but that's what I got when I played around with a Japanese<>English dictionary program I have. This has been the name for quite a long time. At least its...unique :D

Terrible attitude. Don't know what your beef is with him, but keep your personal crap private. The goal here is to find some more people that will help out, not throw mud at each other.

Im not really going anywhere though. I have lots constructive to say, but it would only be to G_Yoshi for all the work he has put in on this over the many many years.

I did keep everything private, did you see anywhere where I started saying anything that has went on? I didnt bring anything up, i just find it interesting he is somehow always attached to the edge of any promising playerworld project somehow.

Soon we will have a few demo levels for players to play, those should be done by the end of the week. We are still converting a lot of things to GS2, and a few towns are being created.

Anyway I'm very hyped about Doragon Koden. About two years ago G_Yoshi gave me a sneak peak about what's to come, even back then it was very anticipating. I'm sure things will end up wonderfuly.

Well, the more slaves, I mean, people I get helping out, the faster things will get accomplished :)

And with that, some assistance with NPCs would be appreciated (preferably someone that is very skilled with GS2). Some stuff I went and coverted earlier this year in an effort to learn GS2 doesn't quite want to work and I'm getting too frustrated with it to be persistent.

i've been waiting for yoshi to finnish this project ever since it started which was a few years ago now.

yeah well, I haven't really been memorising how fast the time goes by, if its over 5, i've been waiting for a pretty damn long time :)
