Gold Servers.
 

Gold Servers, are what you need to pay for to play (and have your stats saved) right? Why is it that when I'm (we're) paying for a game, that never updates? All of the classic servers update all the time. And so far this year, on the servers we pay for, they've only been updated a few times. Zone, this year, has only been updated about 5-6 times, and they have all been minor updates. Graal Kingdoms, this year, has only been updated about 2-3 times (if that). So I guess my question is why are we paying to play servers that are never updated, and are dying?

I know I'm not gonna re-upgrade my account just for some better Graphics to be seen on my screen.

So I guess what Im asking is why the Staff on the 2 Gold Servers, dont update the servers often. The lack of updates is killing both of the Gold Servers.

The new games on the login server are also Gold/VIP content. We plan more updates for the gold servers when we have finished those.

please get on and give me and hilary1612 the event items that we won Vulcan was on Zone for a second then left without giving them out

For the most part, these are guesses. I would love to see some statistics regarding these topics... I bet Googi could do that.

Vulcan shouldn't be global staff. He plays favorites, is more dedicated to Era than any other place, and doesn't do jack ****. There has been nmerous support tickets sent in about guilds that he didn't approve for weeks, and PWA isn't even needed anymore.

Truth is, every server has a staff member thats currupt. I dont really see anything wrong with that, ya it can be a pain in the ass, but its not such a big problem. Also, usually currupt staff members keep the server alive. (When Jagen, and Lance were staff on GK, they were currupt, but in turn kept the server alive. How'd they do this? They would give there friends items, and there friends would trade the items, keeping the server in motion. Once Jagen, and Lance left GK started to fall apart. Now its at a 20-30 player count, when it used to be at 50-80 player count.)

I say Stefan, Unixmad, Bjorn, and Vulcan all find players that are good with scripting, GANI's, ANI's (music files?), Gfx, and Leveling, give them jobs, and let them work on the Server, just like a Classic server would.

This would allow more updates to happen, and at a faster pace.

Ideas or comments on this suggestion?

Ever since Jagen and Lance, staffing for Gold Servers has kind of gone down a lot. I often wonder if it's due to insecurities. Also, Bjorn doesn't do all that much, so I wouldn't even factor him into your equations if I were you.

However many of the games in the "Games World" (or variations of them) can be played for free or for a low cost on other sites. While they are fun I think the Gold servers, which are the foundation of the game, should receive the majority of the focus and the Games World should take a backseat. Most of the paying customers are paying for Gold servers, and not the flash games.

Wtf this is a thread about improving Gold Servers, not a "LETS ALL GANG UP ON VULCAN LOLZ!!@" thread. The reason all the threads with decent suggestions or complaints get closed is because everyone uses them to try to cry about "corrupt" or "lazy" staff.

I can see your point, but I have a gold account for reasons other than playing the gold servers. In fact, I can't even log on Kingdoms, because I'm stuck in a level that won't load right and every time I log on it disconnects me. I have my gold account so I can go and help out on private servers and for the global playerlist and such. There are more reasons for having a gold subscription than being able to play the gold servers.

You could do the same with a VIP account.

I dont even know why i payed for gold the games suck you can just go to some flash web syte if you want to play a crappy game! and GK is somwhat worse then all the clasic survers! AND you dont even need to pay for gold for the best surver (unholy nation). all i have to say is that you shoult even need to pay for graal....

That's Vulcans job and I already posted it there. You know this, I know this, we all know this, noobs living in huts with 28.8k modems and only 1 second sneak previews to graal know this.

In the mini-games you can play against other people, you don't find that easily on other websites.

The advantage on graal is that the players are people within the community and people you know. Which is much better than random websites with people like...

Matter of opinion...I like the games, and you can play them with other members of Graal!
Also a matter of opinion...Roleplaying is not for everyone, myself included ;)

I like the games, although I don't really spend much time on them. I started to play Graal for the Zelda style gaming and have welcomed every evolution from that, because it was Graal. Flash games to me just aren't Graal.

The problem with Gold isn't even that the two gold servers aren't updated enough... it's that there are only TWO gold servers. There is not enough variety. I don't like either of the servers so why should I upgrade?

Also... honestly.. some of the benefits of Gold should be free. It's silly. Why should we have to upgrade our account to play some flash games in the lobby? Why should we have to upgrade our account to be able to use the communication center fully?

Some things I think that would benefit Graal that wouldn't take much work:

1. fixing up the website and putting updates on it again
2. forums re-opened for everyone. it's a communication center for the players of Graal and more than 80% of them can't communicate here very often.
3. if there is ever a gold server with a decent economy, you could have items that can be bought with real money

The only other options to encourage upgrading is to just cut off the unlimited classic access to expired accounts. But there again you're taking away something that you've already given the players, and it would cause the population of Graal to drop even more. You can't punish the players by making them pay for things that were once free... Especially something like the forums where it's all about communication.

They'd have to be about as cheap as they are on Gunbound, or else not a lot of people would even bother to participate in that.

Also, I agree wholly with 1 and 2.

Well...for GK i'm sure that they could just use the prices that the players use...and they'd make bank off that **** alone...but they need to have more reasons to reupgrade...right now there are none, minus you get to play 2 servers that let you save... x_x
