if it feels wrong it is wrong.maybe the black makes it too dark, substitute the inside black lines for a darker tone of brown

Agrh maybe it is coloring =( I'll mess around with that. BTW that is a darker tone of brown QQ! Pallet is sooo FTL!

I must say that the dithering gives it a wierd feel..almost like the wood has a grainy texture to it instead of having a wood texture to it.

Redwizard 09-05-2006 09:47 PM

the technique of shading you used there makes it look like a qicker basket or such

Haha I thought same thing and fixed it after I made the post =P It's significantly less visible and doesn't draw as much attention =)

The edit looks much better. Good job.

I think the new shading kinda sucks. On the topside, there's more shadowing, when that appears to be where the light source is coming from. Also, the random lines added on the individual pieces of wood take away from its smooth texture, and sort of cover up the detailing with one bland outline shade. I thought the box looked nicer before.

Sage_Shadowbane 09-06-2006 03:18 PM

I personally think you should remove that shadow from the top of the box and give it a more smooth feel...those lines that you added look wierd.
