Cross Server Trading

Lately, Ive noticed more and more players that are trading their items for items on other servers. On Maloria (atleast), we do not want any cross server trading what-so-ever, and I dont think you want that on your server either.

Im posting this to encourage staff to tell staff on other servers if they see a player who wants to trade his items from one server to another.

Example:

Player A is on Zodiac and masses about trading his items for Maloria items. Staff A on Zodiac sees that, and contacts a staff member on Maloria about it.

Cross server trading can be decreased if staff would do this. Thanks for hearing me out.

Just put a notice on the server, "Buyer beware."

It creates a bit of a global community, but it can really mess up any economy system you have on your server.
So yeah, stop this if you see it.

Why? I want all servers to take action against cross server trading. The most common ones are:

Graal Kingdoms
Zodiac
Maloria
Era

Because you cannot stop it. Trust me.

What are you going to do? Try and log PMs for keywords? Be there. Done there on Era. It's harder to stop than you think.

That's like saying I WANA STOP PEOPL FROM LAMING OK??

If a server deems it illegal it's only illegal there. Don't try to butt into other server's with your own policy that's not even widely accepted.

I am pretty sure its against the graal TOS?

Ive never once said I want to stop it, I want to reduce it - and THAT is possible.

I belive laming and cross server trading is two completely different things. And I am fully aware that its only illegal on the server that WANTS it illegal (unless the ToS says something about it, not sure). I am trying to encourage servers to make it illegal, and to work together with other servers with it.

They are different but the cause is the same. On classic laming is bannable, on Maloria cross server trading is bannable so I felt it was a worthy comparison (or however it's spelt).

Can anyone give me some pointers on why Cross-Server trading is bad?

Okay, on many servers there is a kind of economy set up, some items are more rare, so they cost more. Now, if one person gives away a rare item for somehting on another server, he gets no money for it. Now the person can sell it for any proce, and still make a profit. If this happens, the price will drop, and people will sell it for less. Basically, just a few trades on other servers, and the economy will start jumping around like crazy (yeah, Mal has this problem, because their items are too rare and expensive).

A server like maloria should encourage cross server trading, especially when people are trading items on other servers for mal items because then maybe mals playerbase will go up??!? o.O

A number of cross server trades are used to scam people out of items. That is mainly why we oppose it.
