Permaclothes.

Today I decided to stock up on the items that I didn't have on my other account and the Permaclothes item was the last one. I head up to the location, got to the point where the old man called Hobbit is, he said to me "I've spent all my life hidden up here in these caves, away from the public" and that was it. I didn't even realise that I had recieved the item, but I did.

My suggestion is to make there be some relevance to the old man giving you the item.. Why has he got it? How did he get it being stuck in them caves all his life? Where does he sleep? Where does he get his food from? Why is he giving this to me? How do I use it? or atleast make him say "Here take this.."

I think if it were in Taylor Richards it would make more sense, being a taylor and all.

Oh, and it would be nice if you automatically paused when firing the item as people tend to pk you when you're changing your clothes.

He's in the caves because he's a hobbit (a sort of recluse), and he gets his food/water from the water to his left (he's a keen fisherman). The PermaClothes he stole after it was accidentaly thrown out by Taylor Richards during a premisis change, shortly after he made a minor profit on the stockmarket (trading shares in JoltBomb Industries).

If you think I made that up... then you are right! ^^

I want a refund from the slimy old hobbit. Last time I checked he gave me defective permaclothes. No matter what body I try out it ends up changing all the permaclothes in my inventory to that outfit. Personally I think the taylor gave him a defective item to get him out of his hair.

everyone says "Taylor" the kind that sews is a "Tailor" the first one is a name. :( every server that has a Tailor got that wrong or so far that I have seen.

That's because way back in the day, Classic called the Tailor Taylor Richaard, and everyone from that point on started thinking that Taylor = Tailor.

I still demand that Taylor the tailor repair my defective equipment!

postscript: Old habits die hard, leave my spelling alone or I'll jail you on site. ;)

I agree. There should be a sign in Taylor Richard's Tailor Shoppe - maybe when you read a scrap of parchment in an empty space between the books on the shelf - maybe it's a letter of resignation from Hobit the Hermit giving a subtle but lucid clue to his location -
"Sir-
I find that your ignorance of my genius can go unacknowledged too long. For years you have profited off my work, and as such I am taking my latest development as severance. You will note it has been patented under my own name, not yours, despite your instruction to the contrary. Any future correspondence you may have can be conducted via my cousin Bridgette, 41 warehouse district, Babord.
I bid you a curt farewell and hope never to cross your path again,
-Hobit the Hermit."

One say2 script and a minor NPC placement later, the Permaclothes NPC becomes the Permaclothes Fetch/Sidequest. Perhaps it will someday require that you prove to Bridgette that you're "not a cop" by stealing the keys from the cop at Babord's entrance, the one constantly trying to warn people not to give the con man/money changer any money.

No idea why the NPCW's screwing up, I don't know from GS2 anymore. :-P
