Gmap warping

Hi. Recently, on Playerworld89, weve been having problems warping to other players.

warpto account warps us to that level, but other players arent visible. Is this because of an error with our gmap, or another file?

I also recall ProjectShifter creating a Warpto script for all worlds to use, so that the ammount of RCs provided will be decreased, will using that script and modifying it work? If so, please direct me to it.

Thanks.

Ive had the same problem before. I think its just gmap trouble. Either try saying update level or reconnect.

I've tried that already, that's the first thing that went through my mind. I've tried everything i can think of.

Eventually restart the npcserver or gserver, it can happen when the gmap is adding incorrectly (first the gmap should be uploaded and added to the server options, then the map part levels)

Tried that, no luck..

An example of what i mean, is that i'll be in dn_ow.gmap and i'll warpto to someone else with their location as dn_ow.gmap, but once i warp to the player in the same gmap, i end up being warped to a normal .nw level.
Then gmap and gmap levels are in levels/Outsides.

I had a similar problem, we had levels that we replaced with a gmap. As it turned out, it was like we had 2 gmaps, so we deleted tthe old one and all the levels and now it's fine.

Check that there is only one gmap file with that name. Secondly check that no NPCs are using the loadmap command since this should not be used on a server.

Ok, im sorry, but neither of those things worked.

You mean the problem that I fixed for you? If so, all I did was to add the GMAP that wasnt working to the server options.

Still broken, and ive tried everything i can think of.

Sulukra 08-30-2006 01:21 AM

Well, the last time that happened to me it was being caused by having old setmap commands on my GMAP levels. So, I just deleted those and it worked.

Gantor 08-30-2006 01:24 AM

Yea, i've checked for setmap command in our levels, it's not there.

Crono 08-30-2006 01:50 AM

I've fixed this before.

Delete map related ****, it's not needed.

Try doing this:

Backup the GMAP and levels. Remove the gmap from the server options.

Now, first upload the GMAP. Then add it in the server ops and then upload the levels.

Wait a while and if it DOES load, even if you cant see other players, try updating the level you're in THROUGH RC. This will update the entire GMAP. If it still doesnt work maybe try disconnecting the NPC server and calling it again.

It should eventually work. x_x

Ok, problem resolved.

Problems were no commas were added on "gmaps=" in server option (I thought the problem was having the commas) , and resetting the NPC Server only doesnt fix it, so i restarted the Gserver. Thanks for EVERYONES help. Greatly appreciated. :)
