I actually made this a while back but never posted it. Atleast I don't think I did.

Please rate/post comments on how to improve, etc.

:)

I like it, simple but appealing. 8/10.

Codein 08-27-2006 06:51 PM

Excellent stuff, Crono :) You should teach me how to make levels :o

Made a mini-tutorial...hope it makes sense/helps you.

If not AIM me @ CronoPker. We can do a 1 on 1 lesson.

Mafukie 08-27-2006 10:57 PM

Good stuff, 9/10 -1 for some filler detail, and the stone road being so perfect at the end. (nothing broken off)

killerogue 08-27-2006 11:03 PM

Crono you never cease to amaze me. I think I know who I can consider the 3 best LATs on Graal.

Galdor 08-27-2006 11:33 PM

looks good =) even tho im tired of that 6+ years old tileset >=O

Shaun 08-28-2006 12:30 AM

Nothing spectacular, and nothing inherently incorrect either.

I'd give it a B+

Chicken_l33t 08-28-2006 02:56 AM

Not very nice. I don't like the path fill and path itself is not great in parts. Detailing is nice, but overall it's not a show level. It's a plain level :o

Infernix 08-28-2006 04:49 AM

Agree with chicken, just a level to walk through =D...decent though.

Sulukra 08-28-2006 06:10 AM

I recall you posting something similar to that in one of my threads to give me some advice, Crono, but its still pretty good. The paths are extremely good, and the detailing is nice, since its pretty nice to look at. However, I would suggest using darker greens in certain places to give it a nicer contrast.

WanDaMan 08-28-2006 08:47 AM

Very nice =D

Yeah it was meant to be used more practically rather than my usual eye candy levels.

Codein 08-28-2006 06:45 PM

Pretty cool. Would be awesome to see a forest in this style on an upcoming server. It'd be awesome.

I want eye candy :D

Anyway, not bad, the path was mentioned. I'd put more detail in the grass, but then again, who siad I was better at levels?!?
;)
7.5/10
for making a practical level look gewd :D

How else have forests been made..?

My impression is that masses of trees have defined forests in the past..

Boo to ugly forests, every LAT should read this thread so they realize how it should be done.
Nice job with the level, its nice and simple the way levels should be.

Wan does do quite an amazing job. He also taught me how to do cliffs the right way which was extremely helpful.

That's not a forest. That's a couple solid lumps of trees.

Yeah but they use that kind of tree styling.

Infernix 08-29-2006 01:48 AM

Zz, I learned how to do trees by looking at the ****. I think you all should just put some money down on glasses like I did lol......though i dont wear em much.

smirt362 08-29-2006 01:50 AM

I like it. It has a sort of natural flow to it.

Yes, you're correct to some extent, smart arse, however there are several styles.

Crono's style (which I like) is different from mine or Wan's.

My style is different from Wan's or Crono's.

Wan's is different from mine and Crono's.

Each style still contains trees but we go about doing it in a different way. I don't tend to clump trees in small amounts - leaving space for tiling that would represent forest ground, Wan clumps more trees than I would, etc.

I know you're intentions were to show me up, humilate me and generally make me look like a ******* but you obviously misunderstood what I meant.

I was just wondering if I missed something. A varying space between trees just doesn't seem to justify producing an entire server, as it appeared you inferred.
