Guild CP Ideas.
 

Since becoming leader of a guild, I've been getting used to the new guild system and have came up with a few suggestions.

Discussion Board

Most people without a site would probably use this more often, if it had more features. I suggest installing more BB code with basic features that a normal forum has such as the ability to post images, sticky topics and use smilies.


Control Panel Activity Log

The logs seem to have a few erros.

When you change the rank of someone it displays what rank they were, but not what rank you changed it to.

When you change someone elses name, the log claims you changed your own name.

Membership Applications

As mentioned in http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...ad.php?t=67696 I still stand by there being a notification of new guild applications. Take MySpace for instance, they have their "New Picture Comments" "New Comments" notifications, which makes it tons easier to know when you have new things, this would be the same, rather then checking regularly on the off chance you have a new application.


Editing Members Information

You should have to give a reason for removing people from a guild, as you do for adding them. It would help in a lot of people complaining when you remove them and also help other high ranks to see why you did it if they viewed logs.


Event Informations / Subscribe to Event

I don't see what these options are for, could someone clarify? I'd like to see these options used so that events could be created and people could subscribe to let the lister know that they will be present. Sections such as date/time/place/server would be useful.

My guild hosts monthly spar tourniments and we often have 'wars' with other guilds, I think using a calendar type event service would make organising things easier.


View Items / Secure Trading

I have no idea what these are used for. Again, could someone clarify?


Edit Public Information

Again, the use of more BB code would make customising your descriptions better and help you stand out from the crowd a bit more. You could have two image placeholders to upload screenshots of your guild, within moderation of course.

Oh, and fix the website so it becomes a hyperlink too and possibly hide the fields that have nothing typed in them, trivial but better.


Guild Settings / Rank Settings

I think the choice of creating more ranks other then the default 12 would be a good option. I've personally had to replace ranks for the option of having a new one and then had to move all the names up by one and all the settings up and it was annoying.


Transfer Leadership

This option doesn't work.

I also suggest the possibility of having more then one leader on guilds as I know a lot of guilds have multiple leaders.

Transfer leadership has worked for me, are you sure the person your transferring to isnt the leader of another guild? Also, I think you have to have gold to lead a guild, not sure.

You have to have VIP to own a global guild.

You have to have VIP to make a guild, but this is irrelevant as I'm not trying to make one nor transfer mine.

Why is it irrelevant? You just said transfer leadership doesnt work, it does work, but you can only transfer it to another VIP account

It didn't work when Ziplock was transferring US to me, he had to create a support ticket yet I don't have a VIP account.

Highlight words all you want, transferring leadership does work, but only to VIP accounts, it's that way because you need to be VIP to create a guild, if you could transfer to non-vip accounts that would leave a big hole open for a VIP account to make a guild for a non-VIP friend and then transfer the newly created guild to his non-VIPs friend's account.

Right okay, that's 1/10 suggestions I made cleared.

I agree the nick changing thing appears odd. 12 ranks is sufficient considering the size of guilds however the moving of everyone is a pain if you have to do it. Having a new applications alert would be handy and logging of reasons why you deleted an app and the fact they were deleted would be useful as well. When several people are doing recruiting its nice to be able to keep an eye on things.

I tell you what I'd like to see:
Guild Flag.
I know Super Sokre just went to all the effort of getting a few guilds to upload flags, figure out a standard template, etcetera...but that's a finite solution to an infinite problem.
Each guild could have a spot to upload their guild flag. I guess it shows up right next to the guild name.
With all those spiffy new features, figure the client can read a single image off a defined website: If guildfort taken over, set flag image to http://guilds.graal.com/#g.png;
Expand as necessary - a Modern Flag, an Ancient Flag, a Spraypaint Tag, a Monitor Image for spaceships maybe, whatever. So any-old playerworld can make use of the Ventrue insignia when they've taken over something of importance.

Make the global Graal environment a little bit more integrated.
