I haven't posted here in a while, since I've been busy. A while back, I obtained a website as payment for doing some graphics for ProjectShifter. I don't really have any idea what I'm going to do with it, still. But, it did give me a reason to make some graphics and to learn some new things like Flash. Anyways, this is the side/navigation bar that I came up with. The url is http://www.skrobo.net/text.gif for those that want to see the layout in use. (Mods remove the url if you don't like it.)

Note: I'm aware that the lower three buttons are missing shadows as well as some problems with the layers. I haven't completed all of the buttons, so I haven't got around to the details on them and I was too lazy to fix the layers at the time.

I'm not a fan of navigation being on the sides.

Poor design decision, but this thread is here to discuss the graphic. Any crits?

Those empty buttons under the "Home" button are not in the same arrangement (is this the right word for this? oO).

I'm also not a fan of these, or horribly over graphical websites. For learning, fine, it's okay. But there is no need for so much graphics when you could do the same thing with a few text links and CSS

Abaddon is the most overused font ever to make stuff look cool. Kinda neat, buy your buttons look way too spread out.

As I noted, the buttons are kinda crappy. I didn't have anything to fill them with, so I rushed them just so there weren't any holes. I've never made a website before, and didn't plan on making one. PS just threw the idea of that as payment out there and I took it. Mostly, I just use the webspace for hosting my graphics and such. I'll probably never make a site out of it, since I don't have a need for one. It was more of an excuse to learn some new things and to get a little practice than anything.

Practice is always a good thing.
