Online Tile Editor?

Hasn't Stefan Made One? Anyone know where I can get access to it?

Vulcan 08-11-2006 11:28 PM

Search the forums! :)

There's a really crappy try at one on Npulse or something, I think.

I personally would rather do maps offline, rather than online.

Matt 08-11-2006 11:34 PM

There's one on Delteria also.

I agree there.

There are so many drawbacks to those kinds of things. Scripting should be testable offline, but there's not much of a point with building levels online and having to constantly save in fear that your connection might suddenly die.

MysticX2X 08-11-2006 11:48 PM

script one for yourself.

killerogue 08-11-2006 11:52 PM

Quit being a jerk Mystic. O_O See there's looking for a fight there. An unnecessary comment as I have no scripting ability.

MysticX2X 08-12-2006 04:38 AM

I wasnt looking for a fight. I meant script one yourself lol, its possible.

excaliber7388 08-12-2006 04:42 AM

It is possible to script, obviously.
However, the only good reason I can soo for doing it would be so that you can make levels, and test scripts at the same time. If only we could do all of that offline......

MysticX2X 08-12-2006 04:46 AM

Was stefan making a updated editor with gs2? Stan get "kuji" to do it.

Thrashsoul3 08-12-2006 05:30 AM

I just want the editor to be able to accept 24 bit PNG tilesets.

Draenin 08-12-2006 06:25 AM

Why? All you have to do is take any 24 bit image and convert it, making sure there's no color loss.

He claims there never will be a level editor that supports gs2, so players have to learn both languages to script :\
It's lame, and a waste. GS1 should be replaced w/ GS2

Yen 08-12-2006 07:43 AM

I scripted one that wrote directly to the level as text.
Unfortunately, changes to tiles like this don't take effect unless you're in the level when it's updated.

Loakey_P2P 08-13-2006 09:34 AM

someone made one on sl dev several month's ago . i think it was vulcan but im not for sure who it was , however this kind of thing is a waste of time as it's faster offline and you cant save the changes online . it was nice tho , when you hit f-4 it brought out the tile set and you clicked and droped .

Rapidwolve 08-13-2006 09:54 AM

You can find one on the graal.net snippets.

PrinceDark 08-13-2006 10:40 AM

I made that one on the graal.net snippets years ago. I don't recommend it for use for obvious reasons (theres much better ways to make it). Plus its incomplete.

edit: whoops theres another I see on there sooooo. hehe, but still make your own cause its fun. I remember one Malinko showed me a long time ago on N-Pulse that was almost like the offline editor.
