Account Scam

A few players have received the following email from [email protected]:

"Hello valued graal account user. Unfortionately there has been a big

error with our server, and I must inform you that the server

administration needs to remake the account database manually before

there is permenent data loss. What this means is that I need you to

respond within 72 hours with your Graal accountname and password to

preserve your account on the server, if this is not done your account

will be deleted and I will not be able to confirm the data so there

would be no refund or new account then. We at GraalOnline staff would

like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

"Unfortionately", this account scam might work on a few people. Once again, we remind you that Graalonline will NEVER ask you for your password, so please do not fall for a scam like this (more work for me :[)

hampy 07-29-2006 05:54 PM

ehhh... who would believe that?

bgumeny 07-29-2006 06:01 PM

Who knows. I got an email from someone pretending to be PayPal regarding my Ebay account, but the PayPal logo had no trademark and if you checked what the link was before you clicked it, it took you to some random site with a redirect to paypal.com. Someone must have really been screwin around with PayPal recently

hampy 07-29-2006 06:03 PM

even if unix asked you for your graal password he can find it out anyway so he wouldnt need to ask o.O

I got quite a few messages with something like that. "Help, I sent my password! What should I do now"?

Yes, exactly. Alot of players are oblivious to this kind of thing.

bahamutstevetff 07-29-2006 07:45 PM

aww, i as all set to warn everyone XD, u have to be dumb to fal for it. (no offenvce if u didi)

Draenin 07-29-2006 08:08 PM

Yeesh. When I woke up groggy and disoriented this morning, I actually did send back the info because I didn't check here first, but quickly went and changed my pass again. It's a good thing, too, because I don't want to have to wait another 3 months to play, and by then, my Gold would be out.

Oh the irony. Please don't type like that if you're talking about intelligence.

Of all people...are you serious? X_x

Draenin 07-29-2006 10:42 PM

I have had bad experiences in the past, and each one I've learned from.

At any rate, be ready to global the IP that logs onto multiple accounts.

Already computer ID banned him.

The nickname of the person was Viper, so perhaps it is the former Anti-Graalian.

Curt1zzle 07-29-2006 11:46 PM

I'd set my watch and warrant on it.

Loriel 07-30-2006 04:47 AM

So can we ban these people for account sharing? Please?

Draenin 07-30-2006 04:52 AM

Wasn't it just one person?

KuJi 07-30-2006 05:11 AM

People = who lost there accounts i think

Draenin 07-30-2006 05:19 AM

If the accounts haven't been accessed by Viper, why ban them? Epsecially if he was ID banned. He may have the passwords to a lot of accounts and junk, but he will likely be banned anyway on those too.

Lyndzey 07-30-2006 02:00 PM

It is possible he will release the text files with accounts and passwords, in which case I will ban the accounts until the people change their passwords.

So far, the person accessed only one other account, and that password has already been changed.

killerogue 07-30-2006 02:04 PM

:O Good Job Lyndzey.

Loakey_P2P 07-30-2006 02:10 PM

ok before i start let me first state , that i may not be the smartest penut in the t**d . however if memory serves me right paypal does not have any dealing's with account names and password's . i thought they were mearly a online money transfer type company . after you pay them , and they send the money to graal . it's graal online that makes and send's the account name and password to you via e-mail . now why exactally would i send a money transfering company information about a game i play that has nothing to do with them ?

KuJi 07-30-2006 05:39 PM

Viper is back? =/

Since when is a 5-10 year jail only 2 years aswell as being able to go BACK on the internet after a bomb threat? O.o

killerogue 07-30-2006 05:48 PM

O_O Why is everyone so Anti Unixmad? Just because he can be stubborn doesn't mean he's an evil person.

Thrashsoul3 07-30-2006 05:56 PM

killerogue 07-30-2006 05:58 PM
