Idle
So I'm wondering what is so terrible about idling and why we aren't allowed to do it. :(

Now, when this thread continues, I will use it as something I wish to state! Though, I'll wait for a response, when someone tells me who told someone that idling isn't allowed. |
Bug Abuse, Hacks and Trainers
This section refers to creating or using any program or technique resulting in unfair advantage via an undocumented feature or disrupting the datastream to and from the server. Such Memory Edits, Trainers, Anti-Idle Macros, Bots or any other 'hacks' destroy the balance of play in GraalOnline and reduce its effectiveness to remain an entertaining product. While a player may think that abusing a bug for personal gain may not affect others, the fact is that it distorts power, creates imbalances in riches, and is otherwise unfair to players abiding by normal game rules. Players must agree that the consequences of allowing bugs and loopholes to be exploited is so detrimental to the product, that GraalOnline will exercise no tolerance whatsoever for anyone participating in this type of activity. It clearly stats in the terms that the use of anything which allows you to stay online beyond the time the server automatically disconnects you is illegal. Whether this be a bot, trainer or a rock on the keyboard, it is illegal. |

He asked what's the reason he can NOT idle. He didn't mention he was using a trainer, therefore, I think it's safe to assume he means, just standing on client, doing nothing, for hours. Using a trainer is against the GraalOnline Rules of Conduct and/or User Agreement as a whole. Is there a reason there are such assumption that he is using a trainer? You can not prove someone is using a trainer if he/she is just standing there, without it detecting from the GServer of course. I've seen cases where someone would be online their XBOX Live, though would keep their client on for hours, and coming back each hour to press, "un-pause" and "pause" to just keep themself connected. I think it's better not to assume he is user a trainer, but just asking a question that he is asking about idling in general, without being disconnected. |

But yeah, I think it's resources. Then again does an account idling in an inside level really use up a lot of resources? I think the whole idea of no idling is because the hours a player has is basically how many hours they have played the server. How lame would it be if you found someone with 5000 hours and didn't even know where any quests were? :| |
So? It doesn't mean it shouldn't be allowed :s

Idling would help if graal if anything. If everyone who plays graal idled on a server daily the pcount would be up by hundreds which could bring in new people.

PS: Make all staff put: disconnectifnotmoved=false TADA |
It would be nice if there was a command which could be added to disable idling - then I could play zorbie burst all day, or any of the other GK games which I am best at.

I don't see anything wrong with a player idling, in fact as someone already said it would encourage more players to pay as they will think its more popular :)

On some servers, when no players are on the NPC Server sleeps, so it doesn't have to do as much. If people idled, it would never sleep, which could make it less efficient. Also, if the person happens to be in a room with a lot of scripts, maybe some serverside, that could also cause problems. It's not like it takes a long time to log on
