Elk's Orochimaru Portrait

I was watching 2 days straight 100 Episodes of Naturo

At this morning, 9 AM I felt like GFXing a Portrait of Orochimaru while listening to his theme...

It took me exactly 4 Hours and 48 Minutes

elk you do realize that the step by step thing doesn't prove you actually made it? It just shows you know how to download what the guy who made it posted to prove he made it ;)

Elk 07-27-2006 11:50 PM

I just took the outlines :]
Anything else...was like...selfmade :]

konidias 07-27-2006 11:59 PM

I would have given you some serious props if you drew it all from scratch... but you copied the outline exactly and 90% of the coloring/shading... so really this is just a tracing job with some coloring... I'm not impressed.

When you draw one from scratch... I mean entirely from scratch, then I will be really impressed.

Otherwise, this really requires little skill when you think about it. Plus you didn't mention that it was taken from an already drawn picture, which means you tried to pass this off as your own work... which lessens my respect for your skill as an artist.

Elk 07-28-2006 12:31 AM

People who have no clue, should be quiet.

Zideruic 07-28-2006 03:00 AM

I love you Elk...lol

My ass you agree.
if it requires so low skills, DO IT BETTER!

Oh...I forgot...YOU DONT HAVE SKILLS ;)

zephirot 07-28-2006 05:26 AM

I have a life, I don't waste 5 hours to draw a ****ty thing.Wich is not yours btw.

lancelot9 07-28-2006 06:24 AM

*Which.

anyways maybe he was in a shading type of mood.

And im not sure what he did and im not sayin he didnt trace it but it is possible to make something very similar to another picture.. pretty easy by the way.. you just gotta measure it right.. its the same with drawing a picture while looking at a real one.

It does take a large degree of skill to take an outline, and use pixel art to make it look as, if not more impressive that the original anime artists work....have you even compared them? Personally I think the pixel art version Elk made looked far better, but that may just be me.

Elk 07-28-2006 07:46 AM

-_- they are just kids...they don't know that yet.

lancelot9 07-28-2006 08:25 AM

Him and his "Sucker Crew" dont talk like totally idiots.
And He and his "Sucker Crew" have a certain tallent that they enjoy doing. Its the same for anything.
People with the tallent of guitar playin will play guitar for very long periods of time
People with the tallent of skateboarding will skateboard for very long periods of time
Etc etc etc

people that have no tallent waste thier life and die slowly in a gutter.

and he ment that people dont know that it also takes skill to even take an outline and Make it look nice, which it does. Now why on earth would he say something like "they dont know that i have no life" duh. think.

Do you really think it's that hard to trace? I've done it many times in the past, although I traced drawings that I actually drew MYSELF.

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/3...titled2mx4.gif

While a poor example, it still shows how easy it is. You just fade the image, use a line tool in paint, and just cover over the lines. Wow, that's some super hard stuff to do!

If you're telling me that it's hard to do some dithered shading then you're fooling nobody but yourself. Sure, I think the pixeled version looks better. But it's because you took an animated cartoon frame and put more work into it than the actual artists would, as they have to make thousands of frames within a time limit.

The thing that throws me is that you posted it with no intention of telling anyone that it was from an exact picture that you had used for reference.

zephirot 07-28-2006 09:03 AM

Bah, Konidias, don't bother, elk is totaly immature, he doesn't worth our time

lancelot9 07-28-2006 09:03 AM

Then now tell me.
How would you get rid of the image after you have traced it?
I think layers might work very nicely?

Lol "he doesnt worth our time"??

Are you using a free translation site?

Your posts are way too long.
And I did it all alone.
I wont take back what I've said.
