The [un]Official Graalympics Committee
 

I was doing some research on the Graalympics and I noticed that one never occured for this year. Time is winding down.

The Graalympics, as formed by Thym, are a wonderful concept. They bring the entire community together for fun events and introduce a global competitative event.

So I have this proposal- Allow me to start the Official Graalympics Committee. This organization will be tasked with setting up the Graalympics each year including the following:

• Selection of host server
• Massing of levels, graphics, and scripts for the events
• Preparing the host server for the masses of people
• Advertising the global event

Selection of Host server: As opposed to being on a seperate server or a private server that the new form of Graalympics will be hosted on the Classic Server Tab. Each year the server will rotate as to give everyone a fair chance. The purpose of selecting an already exsisting server is to use the community already established on that server to actually host the event. No servers will be forced to host the games, however eventually it will become an honor to host them.

Massing levels, graphics, and scripts: This will be done by using volenteers and hopefully the hosting server's staff.

Preparing the host server for the masses of people: The Graalympics will bring in a ton of new players to that server. They'll also need to channel to the seperate area where the events are. There will also have to be scripts in place to manage the people so that the movement of people within the events is a fluid motion without interruption from other players.

Advertisement: This will be very easy now through v4. We could also add -Graalympics- to the end of the servername similiar to Zone and Graal Kingdoms.

This Committee will ensure that the Graalympics will go off with success each year. We'll slowly become a professional service of Graalonline and everyone will have fun. I require official support for this organization because the Graalympics is a Graal-wide Event.

If this committee were to be passed then anyone may join it. However I would request that the numbers remain low so that things can be done. Trouble makers and people who just want to goof around will not be tolerated. The PWA Team will automaticly be inducted into this group.

Rofl, Zurkiba. If help is needed I'll be glad to join or apply to join the commitee if allowed. ^-^ This is an excellent idea and I encourage people to join up and apply if it is made official and to also support the idea. ^-^

Anyway, I like the idea, but what if you used multiple servers for multiple events. This would reduce the pressure on one server, and would show players many more servers, who knows, maybe they'll end up playing there!
It would probably be best to have one or two servers MADE for this, you know, official and all. That way every player would have even stats, and an even chance of doing good in events.
I've always liked this idea.

Ah, I still remember the first Graalympics and that it had it's own server. I also remember those awesome guestbook things, much fun.

These are fun. I would like to sit a committee for them so they are more "official" and regulated. Good idea.

If we dont recieve an official response soon then we'll just try and attempt to do it ourselves.

happens every year. even 2003 wasn't very official.

i've never heard of one on a modern server, like someone earlier said, how about games that occur on each server? races, pk events (for example a classic server, and a modern server) then the winners of those two events face off in another thing that isn't centered around Pking. I dunno, i've never seen these before.
