Multiple Server Staff
Can managers please start enforcing a no multiple server staffing rule? I am sick of seeing people post about a new server everyday
This is coming from someone who used to staff ***** (if you were around when I was an ambitious playerworld maker, new idea a day!) you will remember. If not, oh well. I hope you all see my point. I don't think it would matter if someone was just "helping out" but that definitly doesn't involve that person making posts about the server and such. It will help get playerworlds done faster and even though a lot of talent is spread out now, it will keep the spreadness to a limit. |
I'm currently only doing 2 server ideas. :(
|
ONLY? That's two servers you "manage." Also, you work for 20, 000 servers. So it comes to 20, 002.
|
I do not work on 20,000 servers. If you're so sure name 5 other servers I supposedly work on. O_O
|
Ehh, while some people take it to extremes , there just aren't enough developers for most managers to set such restrictions.
|
Yes, I'll admit I have posted for quite a few servers. To be honest. I'd say about seven or so asking for staff.
Aculeus Anchilles Antipitar Stone Henge Name more please because if I did I remember no others? E: Also Mykel it may seem as if I advertise more than one server every day but usually the reason is that the server I'm currently using has a different name than the one we're going to use so you may see 2 threads named differently but will be about the same server. :( |
You work for others, saying you announced even that many is pretty bad.
|
I do not work for any others besides the two servers now. And tonight I was just hired to work for Calanis Kingdom on GK. :(
|
As mykel already said, there's not enough developers for the one staff at a time rule.
|
Well when you think about it, there is. This way, manager will KNOW when their project will fail because someone such as you would quit (of your quality) and *SuperSaiyanGohanSSJOOCLevel90MarriedToZeldaPrince ss will start making the levels, and the manager will lose hope and shut down the server. Any decent staff he would have would move on, until hopefully PWs could be made into a tighter community with some actual decent **** going on.
Crono get on AIM :D |

While I 100% agree with you, if you look at it from a purely business perspective (as the GraalOnline adminstrators surely do) it does not make sense. Say the manager shuts down his server because SuperSaiyanGohanLevel90 (pretty amusing btw) makes crappy levels, that means that GraalOnline will start losing the 99 dollars that people shell out because they think their server will actually make it. If the only playerworlds that were given space were the ones that actually stood a chance, we would have playerworld1-playerworld10, at most, as opposed to the playerworld1-playerworld9328493 that we have now. Losing that income would either mean GraalOnline failing or us having to pay way more for the servers that truly had a chance, as well as a significant hike in our VIP and Gold subscriptions as well. |
Let's ban Vulcan, he has a RemoteControl EVERYWHERE.

Back on topic, Bgumeny price wouldn't have to go up at all for accounts. I am not sure if you played before buying playerworlds, but the prices were the same without playerworld purchasing.
Back on-off topic, wetf |

I doubt many servers will do that because of the severe limitation of developers. Also, making a thread such as this is not a problem, but singling out one person is not cool. :whatever: |

Yea I did play before playerworld purchasing, and prices may actually have been lower if I remember correctly haha, but expenses go up and such, and it just seems like it would make things more difficult for them if they lost such a large source of income. |

I was so kidding around. O_o. |

I see no reason why you cant work on more than one server. Maybe he likes to work a lot. The only risk of allowing it though is that it could lead to having levels, gfx, scripts, etc stollen from one server and used on another.
I also agree that it should be up to the manager of the server to decide whether or not staff are allowed to work on more than one server or not. |
Warp2ukew
worry about your own business and stop complaining so much. Who cares eh? He is manager so wth are ya gunna do about it, if he has a server he can do what ever he wants. Not all multiple server staff are bad. Sometimes people just need thier help for one reason or another. Or maybe they are friends... maybe they dont like the other server they are working for but decide to keep thier job there just in case... who knows. As for the others who steal scripts, levels, and/or graphics to either bennifit our server or thier other one, we arent stupid enough to higher them.. , but its not a problem if ya know how to manage it. |
Yes, oops misstype. I'm 16.
Kill me I am familiar with just about every servers graphics in the history of graal so they wont get past me, and if they do they will be deleted immediatly. Ive worked on more than 3 servers at one time, because people like my input and my graphics and levels. Sometimes ive even been hired for Ganing or SFX. |
Lance I hardly doubt you know ever servers' graphics style.
|
Try me. Its very easy to tell ones work from another.
Look on the graphics forum page. Just busted someone with stolen stuff outside of graal with some tileset i saw probably a year ago. Most staff will not allow theives on thier server, like i said. You have to be smarter than every one else.. keep yourself updated. |
