ive heard of setting computer id number instead of the ip number . can anyone give me more information on how this is accomplished ?

Are you referring to the RC's IP range? If so you can use the computer ID number as an extra precaution. Separate the PC id and IP range using a comma.

Format: pc: #,*.*.*.*
Example: pc: 234,172.525.54.788

Yes we know as an extra precaution but can you make it so it reads the comp id because 56k users are really screwed and cant get in RC at all.

You can get the ip of the computer by saying

/openaccess Account

on RC

You must have ban rights.

It is displayed in the top (title).

Oh, so JUST the computer ID? I don't think that would work.

pc: #### is like ip. If there is a match, the others don't need to match.

we finaly got it . people were telling us wrong . the pc id dont go at the start . it goes at the end .

example- 172.161.*.*,172.141.*.*,172.209.*.*,172.150.*.*, 172.140.*.*,172.162.*.*,172.164.*.*,172.170.*.*,17 2.169.*.*,172.173.*.*,172.135.*.*, pc:#####

we kept trying the way everyone was saying but it wasnt working . the reason we were doing this is to cancel out the need for all the ip ranges on dial up or 56k user's . couse it can be a pain trying to get the right ip to get on rc and work some times .

The pc id being before the IP range works also. At least it works for me.
