Offline NPC-Server emulator?
Isn't this possible on Stefan's side? =[
|
Why would he give out the source of Graal's servers?
|
He doesnt? I dont know, an offline emulated server .exe which can be run through Graal would be nice
|
Then he would have to release a gserver also. The NPC-Server doesn't function by itself.
|
Er I mean like...
Offline scripting is different from online scripting. Why can't stefan make it the same by having something offline that acts like the npc server :[ |
This would be great as opposed to scripting and then hoping it works online. I cant script at all but it is a frustration to have to redo stuff after you published the level(s)

There are about 500 posts already regarding this, and tons of reasons why it should not be done.

Try using the search option.^^ |
I'm curious if they can come up with a valid reason yet. With a couple tweaks, it would be perfectly viable to have a simulator added in that can replicate an npc server. The only possible reason as to why this hasn't been done, in my mind right now anyways, is that nobody on the programming team knows how to do this.

Especially given that it'd just be pretending to have an NPCServer, while actually running everything clientside. You say serverside - say 2, all it cares is clientside - say 2. You say set serverside string, it checks which "side" asked sure, but only to throw an exception.
That was always one of the nicest bits of developing on Graal - you have a theory, you can test it just that quickly. No huge compilation, no need to develop a huge program just for your code to sit in... |
Heres a good reason:
Stefan's working on 3D, theres tons of servers forsale or possible to work on with a simple PHP Code:

Do you see how irrational this all is? It would hardly make sense if money was not finite, so it's just downright unfathomable given that money is most definately finite. The entire process only exists because of mass-ignorance, really. |
