Skill Points

We could put a "Class" column in the 'e' menu that lists your points. For every good thing you do you get an extra class point. At the end of the round, each class point counts towards 25 experience.

We'll start with medics.

Medic
There's a shortage of medics in Zone due to the slowness of them and lack of anything to do but heal people. I was thinking of this. I created a wounded gani that when a player is killed (with the exeptions of explosions), they fall to the ground wounded. When this happens, the medics radar shows a red cross icon (http://home.ripway.com/2005-7/344229/zone_wounded.PNG). The medic has 15 seconds to get there before the wounded soldier dies. If the medic heals him, he gets a class point. If a soldier is healed, he goes to 30 hp which could then be healed further by a medic. For every sum of 100hp healed by a medic, they earn another class point (this does not include if the soldier is dead).

Defender
The Defenders are meant to... well... defend. I see so many times the Defenders (what little there are of them) rampaging around like everyone else. The Defenders earn class points by defending friendly bases. For every two minutes they stand on a base, they earn a class point. For every enemy they kill within the radius of a friendly base, they earn a class point.

Marine
Marines, as I see them, are basically assault units. Marines gain a class point for every base they take over and a class point for every enemy they kill within the radius of an enemy base.

Grenadier
Grenadiers are generally the heavy artillery guys. They get a point for every enemy they kill with explosives and a point for every vehicle they destroy (a good reason to instate magnet mines). They can also possibly be doubled as a vehicle repair man. I'll be glad to make the gani if someone gives me some wrench gfx. Of course, repairing a vehicle will count as one class point.

Commando
The way I see, Commandos have no real purpose but to be the rambos of the army. For Commandos, they get a class point for every five kills they recieve.

Heavy and Light Infantry
These guys can double as resuppliers. They will be equiped with ammo bags and for every sum of 100 bullets they resupply, they earn a class point.

Misc.
These ideas are generally any other way to earn class points for all classes. For being in a squad (staying in a group of people walking around taking bases and such), for how many people are together at once, the quicker you earn class points.

For example-- There are three people roaming Zone in a group. Together, you take a base. The more people in that group, the more points you earn for taking a base, and defending bases.

So, whad'ya think? :)

Im making this a poll on wether this should be added or not.

this is just like Objs but u dont get any reward for them...No

pooper200000 07-05-2006 09:52 PM

the reward or skillpoints if you read the thread that i took this from is to make it so that being skilled at something can make less of a penalty for you for doing it like healing woud cost less in energy

MisterMastermind 07-05-2006 10:16 PM

No. I'll stick to simply putting my gun to their skull and blowing out the grey matter inside without skill points.

pooper200000 07-05-2006 10:22 PM

lol gruesome

You should see what happens if they don't die in one hit.

pooper200000 07-05-2006 10:30 PM

No, it's just an intelligent way to gain Exp points and also promote teamwork.

MasterNuke 07-06-2006 09:47 PM

Uhh... how about everyone gets 24 skill points. They can freely modify their skill points while on the dropship. The first 6 rank ups give 1 more skill point each. After that, no more skill points.

MisterMastermind 07-06-2006 10:21 PM

If we factor some type of experience bonus, I'm in. :)

pooper200000 07-07-2006 12:23 AM

ok if u have more experience then everyone else you get -2 bonus how about for every ranking level you get 1 point??

Are none of you reading the actual post? The skill points do nothing at all exept add an exp bonus of 25 per skill point, seriously, how ignorant can you guys be? Don't post on a thread just out of its name, actualy read the first post. GOSH!

pooper200000 07-07-2006 03:06 AM

i read the original post but this is na idea to let him express his thoughts on the idea i am not going to be biased when there could be a better way of going about this.

Try diablo 2.
I'm there.

Raeiphon 07-10-2006 02:57 PM

The medic idea is a total and complacant ripoff from BF2, but it'd give me incentive to play Zone again, provided that there were some sort of highly accurate medic only weapon.
