Escort Quest Bug
 

The Escorts apparently appears right next to the person who is looking for him/her.

I never saw something like this. Does this happen all the time?

Yes, this is a very common thing.
I've seen someone in particular getting ~10 gold keys a day doing this.

But well, I'm not sure what it can be since noone did something to the questscripts :\

It seems like every time something on GK is updated or fixed, something else breaks.
any idea why? anyone?

I suppose it's because of drastic changes made to scripts which were originally configured for the Mudlib1 that now run on Mudlib2

The NPCs are not moving they just reactivate where they stand.

I'll let you know when the next activates but it seems so to me.

I have updated the scripts, converted everything to new scripting engine to be sure.

Someone found the Master Gear escort but the return location wont take her back.

Yep. I had her. I couldn't return her so I sold her off for 1k plat. :cool:

Thats fixed now.
I have yet to try out the escorts since the new script, but I'd assume its all fxed.

There is still a problem. I just found this in the logs:
Little Red Riding Hood (Escort-27) warped to insidezormite_ph2482.nw (45, 20).
And it happens several times now, always it this playerhouse. I would really like to know who is the owner of this house.

The Cartographer still keeps restarting in the same spot.

Warp to the inside and walk outside. Then right click the house?

Not possible, you get warped out and back to the house you entered at last.
In meantime Stefan hopefully fixed the escort NPC.

Seems as if the one for the Doohickey door always says NorthEast Main.

Now we have another small problem:
The announcing npc's for the cousine escort, saying the same since a few days now: she will be found in the north western part of main, like it matters where she really is.

Well the escort npcs are working fine it seems, but people can still bring them to different places. May be they should warp back to the place they should wait if the player is not bringing them to the destination.

what I meant is: when you go to the person who is currently searching the NPC -28 it says always she will be found in the "north west of main island". It doesn't matters where she is, in dustari or in HH, its always the same message.
So people find them only by chance, they get no helpful hint at the moment.

I am glad this is fixed, though I found Baretta, the Red Named NPC/Master Gear escort on shallow water.
