Hurting Players

Hello. On my server, I'm trying to make a basic weapon that hurts a player at a certain x,y. I have the ganis all set up. I though that maybe hitplayer would work, but it just closed my graal cilent. I'm stuck. Anyone care to help someone who forgot how to script a few decades ago?
