STAFF READ THIS....Important!

it's been said the server is dead, people quitting and so on.
And as much as i don't like that idea it is true.
I know a lot is being done for this server but there is one thing missing..

First of all it's the players that keep me here, Without Alan, Alisa and all the other pirates i would have quitted years ago in boredom.

The main priority should be to increase server numbers.
Being the owner of a popular online game myself i am experienced in increasing numbers, i have up to 1000 players online at a time, of course we do not expect that amount on graal nevermind graal kingdoms we can still get a lot of players, at least 100.

To do this.. it relies on the trial players,
Imagine you started again, knew nothing about graal... think about what you can do.. well what can you do? nothing! why would u buy a game that you don't enjoy trial? lets face it graal ain't best gfx. so gameplay has to compensate,

My IDEA....

Add more for trial characters, more stuff like weapon shops, more freedom for them to explore or give them their own island, maybe a teleported portal somewhere in bomboria for them to explore and fight monsters along with paying p2p players. and water for them to ship battle. they'll soon want to join a kingdom but they gotta subscribe to take part in kingdoms and events and such. item restrictions and level restrictions and so on.

That would make me pay, i was lucky to come to Gk because i hated trial, luckily i had subscribed to classic and had a small chance to see the real graal world..

PLAYERS do not know the real graal world unless they pay, i gambled my money, i never knew if graal was a good game or not, not many people gamble their money like that.

It's the only way to increase numbers.

Also ADVERTISE!

Graal kingdoms is the main graal game!
type graal in google its all GK this GK that.

All this stuff needs to be seriously considered if you want this server to revive and become the great server it once was.

ApothiX 06-02-2006 04:26 PM

There have been countless threads of this exact nature. You'd think that you people would learn to leave the business management to Linux CJ.

myth-simba 06-02-2006 04:33 PM

well

"you people?"

I am just sharing a some advice thats all.
Personally this game is struggling,
You should know, i bet you wouldn't subscribe if all you saw of graal was the trial.

It was classic that i liked, there i went to gold luckily inthe few days that i had, only in the last 3 hours i had of gold i started to like it.

but if all i seen was trial 'd got rid of graal ages ago. think of how many competitors there are out there on the web?

100 -150 on at a time max? My game had 900-100 on at a time.

This game can make it because it is a good game! you just gotta convince everyone else out there!! increase numbers this game could go far!

Possible could make it on disk format one day you never know!

alarid0 06-02-2006 04:35 PM

Ohh don't worry. It's all being done and taken care of :)

Well ok for the most part of your message what with trial accounts I can't actually say that because I don't really know. And I'm not really the one that would be able to change anything about it...
but...
I -can- tell you that graphics and gameplay are being worked on alot :)

Remember all that dead time with very few additions to speak of? Gone.

And what game is that? You've offered up your sagacious wisdom based on the pretense that you have appropriate experience, but you've yet to provide us with your credentials.

myth-simba 06-02-2006 04:40 PM

?

i'm saying i own a large multiplayer game, didn't say i was gonna do anything HERE about it. i'm not staff, i cannot do anything about it. i don't work on graal.

I'm just pointing out that i know what i'm talking about if this game ever wants a chance to get revived.

How does graal expect to get Graal 3D done if they cannot even revive graal 2d?

But you see now, your argument here kind of hinges on the idea that you do indeed have experience in Online Game Management. As you've yet to show us WHAT your game is, your argument dosen't really have a firm leg to stand on, stumpy.

Without evidence to support you claims, you can be
A) Lieing completely
B) Overstating your game's success
C) Running a game of a completely different audience that Graal
D) B and C
E) Full of hot air

myth-simba 06-02-2006 04:50 PM

....

My game has nothing to do with this, but if you want to visit it.
it's called Shadowmere.

It's a RPG just like this, a slash and hit game.

You can be a paladin, mage, thief, and so on. and reach level 25 you can become an advanced class like a Knight, High Mage, Master Thief and so on and get better weapons and skills.

you can follow the storyline in quests and be a hero or you can turn on the story and work for assasins and so on taking quests from them.

You can be a vampire if you go to the right place and so on. there is a lot of stuff there.

It's not my decision what happens on the server i don't work here, and it doesn't matter who i am, i'm telling you this is what needs to be done.
The best way to see what an online game needs is being the consumer yourself

Thing about my game is though i don't charge them to play it, i have a item shop where you can buy pay items, Stuff like really high statted armour, level up scrolls and so on. Thats how we make our income on it. My Brother is the big big boss man on it, i just help him with certain things on it like what we should include on this and that and so on. He has a full development team to do the technical stuff. So i'm not really THE owner but i'm as close as i'm gonna get hehe

GryffonDurime 06-02-2006 05:14 PM

...Okay, see now, the problem is that
A) You lied
B) This game is of a completely different genre, style, and business model than graal
C) A and B -Correct

myth-simba 06-02-2006 05:17 PM

..

what experience do you have?

What right do you have and what proof?

Your problem is..
(a) - you think i care.
(b) - You have no idea what your going on about.
(c) - You think i don't have a game where as i do.

even if i did or didn't though it's besides the point.
Anyone who has played this game would know. anyways this post is for staff to read. your not staff of graal kingdoms so it's not your place to approve or disapprove this idea.

GryffonDurime 06-02-2006 05:20 PM

I'm not saying that argument is invalid. I'm saying that you established your argument on the petty and shallow facade of being an experienced game owner, when in fact you are not the owner you claimed. From your description, you're an outside consultant as a family kindness.

I don't need to prove my experience. I'm not the one arguing for change based on the pretext that my argument is more valid through experiene.

Oh, and not my place? It's a public forum.

myth-simba 06-02-2006 05:24 PM

well

Did you ever take english?

"not your place" is an expression.

This is a public forum i know

i'm not in the mood to go on and on about this game, personally i'm not that much effected if this server goes down the drain, afterall i play to talk to the people here, i can always use MSN and talk to alan and alisa and get all the pirate's addys, so really i don't need graal. i just want this server to recover so i can play a good online game with them and have fun.

Shadowmere bores me, after a while it gets repeatitive, just like diablo 2, ( kill monsters for items, with items kill monsters for more items)

GryffonDurime 06-02-2006 05:30 PM

Getting awfully snarky, aren't you?

Regardless, Graal can't control what google searches. Also, Graal isn't a common thing to search for in the first place. Trials are given more than acceptable leeway for decision; anymore just further trivializes the meager stipend we have to pay to subsidize Graal.

myth-simba 06-02-2006 05:35 PM

nah

i'm quite happy actually.

all i'm saying is this be a good idea and staff should see this as a good revival thing. don't you agree?

No, because I don't think it's a good idea. Nor is it a new idea. I've no problem if it's implememnted, I'd just rather see new content being the draw for new players than trial-content. Kill two birds with one stone.

Craigus 06-02-2006 05:43 PM

I agree with myth here, i don't think i would of discovered GK's potential if i hadn't of upgraded for the other servers. I also thought GK was boring until the very close end of my gold time and somebody talked me into spending a few hours on it.

myth-simba 06-02-2006 05:51 PM

thing is..

True, but with more numbers more stuff can be done and better ideas. such as kingdoms. a lot of them are neglected due to the lack of players to go around.

AlaricoMontario 06-02-2006 06:43 PM

A couple of things to give the trials some 'pizzazz' would be nice.

A bunch of things to give us ones who have been here awhile and have exhausted every fun resource this game has to offer... would be even nicer.

Damix2 06-02-2006 11:27 PM

Let trials save but cap their stats at 20, there overall level at 20 and maybe item restrictions aswell?

myth-simba 06-02-2006 11:46 PM

problem solved

i was told by staff what is happening.
stefan apparently working on a guest thing where they have more freedom and such and can really try out graal.
i do not have information on what restrictions they are but if they can level up, ship battle and such they will subscribe if it's worth it.

Admins 06-03-2006 01:57 AM

It's planned to let them save their stats/items but only allow the items they are required to use in the tutorial.

No way. For the vast majority of players, this isn't a big restriction.

MisterMastermind 06-03-2006 02:35 AM

Restrict blessed and prepped weapons along with all enchanted armors and god bonuses?

Butz 06-03-2006 07:27 PM

You could always do something like give a day of gold time to new accounts, so they have a chance to explore around and test it out. After that day is up, they get reverted back to trial status. (But not to classic status, obviously.)

Craigus 06-03-2006 11:49 PM

Just give them 20 hours of game time free simple..

That would be cool, so long as their computer ID is logged and they can't make anymore trial accounts :)

Why would people want to restart every 20 hours?

AlaricoMontario 06-04-2006 05:50 AM

Or just not let them leave Bomboria or go above level 5......

Hmm.. simplicity....

I give it 10 hours to be shot down for something complicated.
