There is a post in the graphics area that Infernix made about some old trees he found. Look through that, Elk copied the technique of the trees and posted a stage by stage.

I think that would be really useful to take a look at.

Your "tutorial" there is about as clear and explanatory as the underpants gnomes' business plan.

I thought it was fairly easy to understand.

Firs the outline, then the main color, then the highlights based on the outline.

Another tip - Don't use MSPaint.

Do it better yourself then.

Tutorials are usually meant for beginners to pick up skills that they don't yet have. For someone that hasn't done a lot of highlights or thought about light sources and how everything plays out, there's no explanation of how he went from flat color to the third image.

I do all my graphics with MSPaint.. !pissed!
