Butz 05-29-2006 04:39 AM

Well, you've got the shape down, but there's little to no detail, and the shading needs some work as well.

killerogue 05-29-2006 04:51 AM

Same with other.

alarid0 05-29-2006 06:02 AM

lancelot9 05-29-2006 07:04 AM

AS FOR THE PIC... your looking at it straight on.. there should be a little bit of the top showing, at an angle peoples.. make it 3d, the pole should be rounded at the bottom, not flat, that may help

Don't post this kind of stuff, Unixmad will get paranoid that people will leave graal for McDonalds and he will indeed ban you, sir.

lancelot9 05-29-2006 07:28 PM

DONT USE BLACK LINES, especially inside the image

what i do for top edges is use a lighter color and then make the part facing you darker.

lancelot9 05-29-2006 07:49 PM

Sorry for the double post but, i kinda took it apon myself to show ya what i mean

You have a good outline which can be worked on.

At the top of the red part, you have a top part so its appears 3D, which means you need to also do the same for the top of the M.

Anyways, as i said above your outlines are good, you just need to work on your colouring, try not to buttonise like you have done here. And dont forget the direction of the light source, makes a big difference in artwork.

You do know that stuff is majorly processed, right? Not as bad as the McNuggets though. The fact that they had to make a commersial saying that they are "now made with 100% white meat" should be enough reason...

The gfx is lacking a light source also. Might wanna work on that. (Sorry if someone already said that, I'm lazy and I dont wanna read the whole thread)

do it better, mr Gat admin

Draenin 05-29-2006 10:34 PM

I don't like the fact that this thread is honoring a restaurant that poisons birds, superheats coffee, and has a history of grease and spit being embedded in their food.

That, and I also don't like the sign you made because it is MIMEDONALDS.

As for black outlines, you guys can bite me. I use black outlines for a lot of stuff.

Funny that you talk about black lines being bad, though, Skrobo. Especially since your sig has a gun in it with black outlines.

Elk 05-29-2006 10:38 PM

Yea skrobo
shame on you!
draenin sorry if i hurted you...but its just about the GFX

Don't take offence Elk. I'm only stating that the black outline on the yellow doesn't look too hot.

Ok, let me rephrase. The black outlines bordering the yellow doesn't blend together well. My sig, has dark colors, so a black outline doesn't stand out.

Draenin 05-29-2006 11:58 PM

It doesn't matter if it's black outlines on yellow or on plaid. The reason why most artists who leave behind the black lines do so is because they also wasnt some attention paid to the lineart as well.

In that case, a dark gray lets the line art show without having it stand out too much. There is no point in arguing this. I'm just stating my opinion on the matter. Why argue over opinions?

Personally, I do it to visually seperate my image from anything which is below or beside it (when used).

lancelot9 05-30-2006 04:59 AM

IDC about the other peoples comments, Elk, i love it... and they do to

and black lines are fine on your stuff, they go alone with it great..

im especially diggin the letters man

Skrobo2 05-30-2006 05:14 AM

Don't get me wrong, I love the image. I just think the use of black lines, instead of a dark gray doesn't look too great. I really appreciate Elks' style, which is why even though he's done quite a few things that could have got him fired, he still works on UN. In some cases, black lines are appropriate. Especially, if you are trying to make the line art stand out and be noticed. I just think that on that image, it stands out way too much, and the outline in that image shouldn't really stand out over the rest of the image. But, that's just my opinion, and other artists may think otherwise. I apologize Elk, my comments were a little rude.
