platemail of berwean

3 Attachment(s)
Well I made a Platemail of berwean with alchemy and it is supposed to be lighter and not weigh you down as much.
It seems to slow you down as much as regular armor and, it only weighs 10kg less than regular armor.
The first pic is with Gold Platemail on
The second is with the platemail of berwean on
and the third is with a Silver platemail of berwean on

Pay attention to my speed.
Shouldn't the platemail of berwean be equal to the speed of a Silver Platemail of berwean not gold and silver platemail?

ViperZakuto 01-07-2007 11:27 AM

sorry for double posting, but my edit button is gone. Has this ever been fixed? I mean come on it's worthess the way it is. It is the exact same item as a silver platemail but with berwean name on it.

Draenin 01-07-2007 11:36 AM

Gold and Berwean are practically the same, but due to the weights, one will probably have a lower speedcap, should you happen to max out all of your speed 'til you hit the cap on each. Normal Berwean probably has a slightly higher one, and your speed seems to go up, logically, when you equip a lighter armor, like the silver one.

ViperZakuto 01-07-2007 11:49 AM

alright i'm not getting what your saying. maybe i should have used silver insted of gold platemail in my example. you could test it ou if you wish.
right now it's like this

Plate Mail of berwean = Silver plate mail

the speed cap is the same. It should be swithced to match (or be close to) silver platemail of berwean. plus reduce the weight a little bit.

This would give the middle class something to shoot for. plus a good way to make money. I mean how many people have this recipe... if many people do they don't use it.

Felix_Xenophobe 01-07-2007 02:22 PM

Speedcaps should be removed, and give the plate mails a (-# speed) stats.
;o

Gothika 01-07-2007 02:42 PM

It doesn't make sense that some armour caps speed. Like Mithril Chainmail of Electricity. It has speed + 1 and dex + 1 yet it caps your speed. So why does it give you speed if its just going to take it away?

Thats why im not Leucetious anymore its good armour but you cant really use it.

Draenin 01-07-2007 09:56 PM

Gale Armour originally had + to dex. However, it was a really high bonus, so I can understand nerfing it. -2 is a bit much though. :| It sort of makes the item a tad bit undesirable.

ViperZakuto 01-10-2007 12:50 PM

this berwean is worth nothing compared to what it takes to make.

ViperZakuto 01-11-2007 04:41 PM

my edit button diappeard again =/

I have some new info on this

here is what it takes to make a platemail of berwean
plate mail of Berwean may be made using the following
ingredients:
1 golden plate mail (worth more than platemail of berwean itself)
1 demon's finger
2 rabbit lord foots
3 evil bomy lord hearts
1 big crystal of mana

now who would spend time collecting all then ingreadients and alching them just to get an item that is equal to silver platemail. I would just rather go into the west hh and collect silver platemails.

ViperZakuto 08-20-2007 09:40 PM

please make the plate mail of berwean = Silver plate mail of berwean.

right now it is the same a silver plate mail? you can get those in hh all day why would you make something that takes more to make but is equal?

The image on plate mail of berwean is better than silver plate mail but you do have a point.

ViperZakuto 08-20-2007 10:15 PM

I tried selling it for 1k, nobody wil even buy for that. it's not worth selling for any less than that for all the work it takes. i think about 2.5k is the right price for what it takes. and for that price it has to be worth silver plate mail of berwean or close to it.

When did it go to -2?

Realisticaly speaking, Chainmail and scale mail pull down upon the wearer like a huge weight pressing down on their shoulders. Amazingly platemail does not, instead integrating into the wearers body through mutleple points. Arms, legs, torso all have their own areas holding various peices of the armour. Distrubuting the armour more evenly. Since mithril is indeed extremely rare and hard to craft in every RP or lore story you can find. It would be logical to offer mithril plate, scale, and mail armours. Yet there is only the mithril shirt. The graphic is that of a shirt, not the full torso. The speed cap on it should not be there. but instead be limited solely upon the wearers ability to hold items through the strength attribute and not a speed cap.

Quite simply I am trying to say, the system needs to be redone for all armours need to be re-evaluated with their speed caps and how they are slowing people down does not match to realistic armours of the equivalent types.

very true, almost all armors are crap. they should all at least be useful.

Drakeero 08-23-2007 01:59 PM

Hm... I'm not going to get into this much. There's a million different possible systems, some better or worse then others. (Personally I like mine, but hey, that's why its mine. It also doesn't play well with others.)

But for right now we must all keep one very important thing in mind:
GK = t3h suck. I still love the simplicity, the idea, and the potential behind the game which is why I still play, but for now its still t3h suck. Right now the best we can do is find what sucks less and go with that. Although, knowing me I'm going to end up making a bunch of these armors just for the fun of it.

I agree, most armours should not have a speed cap or less of a speed cap.

Plate Mail of Power has a weight of around 242kg and Mithril Chainmail is only around 22kg it makes you think why you can hold Plate Mail of Power no problem and you can't hold mith without a -2 speed cap.

Mithril is why Mithril Chainmail of berwean is light. I dunno what berwean is but it's had nothing to do with the armour weight.

*Also agrees speed caps suck*

Maybie Berwean promotes higher ac/armour bonus, but in the process, reduces speed... Just a thought :p

Silver plate mail of berwean weighs less than silver plate mail
Mithril chainmail of berwean weighs less than Mithril chainmail
So how is these berwean things lighter, but not platemail?

Berwean removed an ac, reduces weight, reduces the "speed" cap to a minor degree, and lowers the weight of the overall armour. At one time cleaning the old mithril of berwean was more beneficial because it would actually have ac 6 instead of ac 5... Unless somone goes onto debug and tests this, or is bold enough to try it on GK, the world may never know.

hmm wander what a "platemail's" stats are?

alright when you cleaned mith berwean it would slow you down a bit more than berwean.

I just tested it.
Mithril Chainmail AC+6 Armour+90 15kg
Also to note that it doesn't have GFX for players. (IE: Old mith)
Max ea its 22.158kg
Also lowers the speed cap, I didn't test it against a regular Mith of berwean so I don't know the exact number.

It doesn't really suck, all that needs to be done is fixes with systems, then go in and add a few more dungeons, make the economy better so that people can get good looking stuff. I'm sure there are graphic artists out there that wouldn't mind helping out GK with new stuff.. There are people out there that want to help the place, but just don't have a way of doing it.. Noone to talk to about it!
