Rumor has it?
Hmm...rumor has it that Malinko has been fired and Growlz is quit...anyone know if any of this is true?
|
GrowlZ has quit.
I do not believe that Malinko has been officially fired. From what I heard, Stefan wants to speak to me about the situation first. I think we all know that I support Malinko 100% and will put my job on the line just to keep him as a PWA. jk jk jk By the way, please bring back the Rumor Has It Forum, as well as FAI. |

I would think Malinko would be fired. But yes, sadly the Z quit. |

Moondeath for PWA *coughs*
- Ignore this post >_> |
Call me crazy but I think a semi-decent hiring should be in order by now. Just picking people is getting kind of old, look what has happened thus far right?
Lets get some people in here who have plenty of time to dedicate to making graal fun again. |
Rehire me, and then have the PWA get together and decide on a new member.
|
Growlz did alot if you asked him.
|
GrowlZ was the only thing good left in Playerworld Administration but now it's lame..
|
I am really worried as to what will happen now with the PWA.
Who is left? Bjorn, dNeonb, and Houdiniman? Bjorn is busy doing a lot of things, including being a Graal admin?. Dunno about dNeonb. Houdiniman seems to be innactive, or so I have heard from a lot of people. I think pwa members should be chosen by other pwa members and globals. They are the ones who are familiar with a lot of members. I don't really agree with Stefan picking them, as he does not frequent Playerworlds except Gold ones, and pwa should frequent classic/hosted type playerworlds more than gold. I am iffy about holding tryouts for pwa also, as in having an application...unless it is a very hard application with a lot to it. Not just a question and answer application, but maybe have several different scenerios set up that will have to be taken care of, and have them do at least one inspection, or 2. How are you gonna know how someone will handle situations without them actually being put in that situation? I really, really, hope that they get some good pwa members in. |
Moonie.. Bjorn and dNeonb are the same person. So only two PWA members are left now.

Anywho, i think an application should go up, hiring people because of their connections with current globals is 'unfair', in the sense that probablly 75% of Graal players want to be a global. x_x |

Regardless of how you go on about doing it, it may always boil down to who someone likes and/or dosent like more then another person, regardless of how solid the application is. Thats where it gets really hard to get good dedicated workers in I believe. Quote:

Maybe hold a fake scenerio on a UC playerworld with a volunteer/volunteers. Something that pwa's regularly have to deal with that maybe involves more than just one step, and some simpler scenerios also. |
I think Stefan should 'promote' the current staff members. Then hire someone else to re-place that person's old job. That's how we do it on Era.

I think if you are going to have an application.. it should be like any other job application for a high priority job. The stronger your experience and references.. the better you look. If someone who has only played Graal for a year decides to apply.. his chances SHOULD start out less than someone who has played for 6 years. I don't like how there are some PWA (less now with Malinko gone) that seem to just have come out of no where.. no idea who they are just *poof* new PWA.

Who would decide which way was the best to handle it, and what if everyone handled it in the best way possible? Also who would have the final say on people getting in? And would the opinions of the impartial judges during this testing actually influance the decision in one way or another. Its hard to say but on one hand Stefan picking the PWA Usually avoids a lot of trouble at the start, maybe it rubs some people the wrong way because I can understand everyone wants their fair shot. Then sometimes it causes more trouble then it is worth. Edit: Quote:

Sure, experiance and refrences should be a part of the app, but the hiring should not be based highly on that. Quote:
I don't agree with Stefan hiring pwa simply because he really only knows people from gold servers, and of course, he only hires people he knows and trusts, which is not a bad thing, but there are many others who are known and trusted in the classic community where pwa need to work. |
How can you generally trust a person?
((Open thread, any reply :p)) |

Trust is something that is to be earned over time. (No idea who you are talking to) |

I'd really like to come back to work. |
Someones pushing to be PWA big time x_x

It makes sense, since I've already been PWA once and quit on relatively good terms (e.g. I didn't pull a Nem). Of course it's their choice, but PWA is a job, not a priviledge. The masses do not necessarily deserve equal footing with whoever else is trying for the position; it should be based on past performance, be it as a global or a local position. Common sense would seem to dictate that a previous global who left due to personal circumstances (I don't want to guess, but I think Lyndzey did) would be a wise choice to fill a relatively high-profile position. Certainly, no average player should be given the job. A staff member who was GP on a server would make a better PWA than a normal player who has never been staff on anything, and likewise, a former PWA with a decent record would probably be safer to hire as a PWA than someone with no record. |

I don't think that you should be held on top of everyone else just because you used to be a pwa member. |

When one quits a job, it is no longer their obligation to behave the same as when they were on the job. Why should someone be obligated to adhere to the PWA code of conduct when they are not PWA? |
Quote:
Anyone who applies for a global position should be subject to having their behavior and actions within Graal be checked into and evaluated. |
Here's my opinion (although no one will care, but don't bother saying you don't because no one cares about your opinions either.)
Current globals who actually play Classic/Gold playerworlds should forward a list of people they believe could do well with a PWA position to each other, and eliminate as nescessary! Weakest Link Style. |

However... People with a good Managerial history may also be well looked at. Because they know how to deal with not only a mass group of people, but many troublesome people. I dont want to pull any cards like that anyways, because now that two+ places are open, everyone is looking for a way to get in, and it needs to remain as fair and impartial as possible. |
