Did you smooth or soften everything? It sort of looks like some detail was lost on the trunk and the leaves. Also, wait 'til Zero gets to this. He might help you out with the shading stuff, because some of the leafy area needs to look a bit more "full," if you follow me.

Aye, the first thing I noticed was that although the trunk looks nice, the leaves look like a spraycan frenzy, no real depth to them.

With love, anything's possible.

Edit: Just realized how funny it looks on a black background. It's transparent on the real image, though. Stupid thumbnails. -_-

Draenin and his randomly placed pixel techniques. Tho i admit it looks good Draenin, but too random and like staticky i guess..

Ide keep the leaves and redo the trunk

Draenin 04-29-2006 12:35 AM

The random pixels are just to alleviate the overly-smooth look.

The trunk actually looks fine to me. The leaves, however, are a bit funky. If you look down at the bottom of the bough, you'll note that the leaves look curved. It's natural for leaves to do that sometimes, but it looks kinda goofy without any branches supporting the portions near the bottom.

Your numbers and "words" mean nothing.

Care to explain why?

254 colors.

I dont like that much colors :|

Aye, I did the leafs with an airbrush tool after trying to make different types of leaves for hours without comming up with a nice tool.

And the guys over at the Maloria forum practically said the same thing; the trunk looks nice, but not the leafs. And the trunk is handmade in MSPaint, the leafs is done with the airbrush tool in PSP7.

The trick with treetops is... don't use the airbrush tool. If you want treetops that look good, you have to put the time and effort in. There is no magical paint tool that lets you spray on a beautiful treetop.

If you're going for that spraypainted green mush look, you nailed it!

The tree was designed to with somewhat of a cartoonish/colorful look and to look good with the fort on Mythic Legends.

Check the right thumbnail graphic in the thread for a look on the fort; http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...ad.php?t=65563
