Helping New Players
This is a suggestion which goes out to those players on GK who have become financially comfortable as a player, and are also knowledgeable. If you're not capable of acquiring whatever you desire with ease then this is probably not a good suggestion for you.
Basically, what I'm asking the older players to do is adopt a new player or two. It's really quite simple, and you may find it satisfying - I know I have. I would start by finding a newb and telling them they can ask you any questions they have - if you find they're superbly annoying... ignore them! If you find they're mature, and that you're comfortable helping them further then start to slowly walk them through specific processes and going as far as to purchase supplies and materials for them. Those of you who know me probably know that I have slight misanthropy. You should take your personal characteristics into consideration when you decide to help a new player, as you may give them a bad experience and they may very well leave the server/game - which would potentially be a waste of their time, and a loss in revinue for Graal Online... not to mention it would damage the online community. Once you've found a player which you don't mind supporting you shouldn't just dump everything they need on them immediately. Look at where you're at, and consider why the game isn't as fun as it was when you were new - it's because all of your immediate wants can be fulfilled. Basically, you will have a good chance of ruining their fun if you just hand them whatever they need - besides, they won't learn anything (another fun aspect of GK). Oh, and for the sake of the community - make sure you don't turn them into scamming jerks. And a final consideration may be their account status - a trial won't get much out of this sort of help, as they will likely never seriously play GK, and won't be able to keep any of the items you loan/give them. |
It's a good idea. I've often made quick runs to the haunted house to find skull swords for new players, just so they have some sort of weapon to defend themselves with.

I like that idea of a godparenthood!
If there is something you need, I'll see what I can do as support. |
Is level 7 considered a newb still? I still have plenty of questions that need answering really bad. >_<

I once gave a newbie an ice flaming sword of gov+8 to use.
He sold it to a store to buy an unblessed sai for plat from some player. I don't help newbies anymore. |

Try to integrate them in the community by support. |
This is what the Zakuto family has been doing since the family has been on gk. If noobs have any questions or need any starting gear ask a Zakuto. I'm sure we will be glad to help. Another suggestion is, when someone keeps massing that they need help with something how hard is it to say go to hirathia or something of the sort. I noticed they usually stop spam massing after you simply direct them to where they need to go.

Alisa is the best
Alisa's hand is currently hurting hher so she cannot type but when its better and it will be she always helps new guys. i don't know why. she helped me join Cp taught me lots of things and now i'm thw top fighter in the Cp fleet. still to this day i could ntot repay the debt i owe her.
she's helped me a lot. the tutorial is really bad too so its really up to players to get more players. I repayed the debt by helping a bunch of noobs. the older players should get rewarded. maybe special abilities after certain hours of game time? like new craftable items or something. |
Tell Alisa to go on TS if she can't type, ya don't need fingers for that!

Can't hand them a valuable item and expect them to suddenly become concious of that. |

Newbies don't listen and would rather cool looking things. Its like the war axe, I'm sitting here telling this guy that his FID is better then the war axe, but no, he won't listen. I'm all for helping new players, but a lot are stubborn and won't take advice. |
The war axe is pretty 1337.
