A World...

If possible, please add something to make it so I can make my gmap go around, basically like a world, where you can keep walking all day if you are bored.. even though you see the same thing, it'd be cool :-P

I guess you could provide end points where it warps to the other side. However, this may look wrong on the map, i'm not sure what would turn up (probably a never ending map?)

KuJi 04-18-2006 10:01 PM

I want a never ending map, only thing is, if I linked it.. it'd be like no one could tell its there --> which is pointless <--

Tyhm 04-18-2006 10:14 PM

Maybe not...is it still possible to set an image to setmap?
Then you could just show a map that repeats at the ends by doubling the size and copying the image of the levels...downside is, yeah, it'd list the second copy of North America as being completely vacant...
I always wondered what'd happen if you had the same level listed twice in a GMAP, if people would "appear" in both places, one, or neither...

Well, adding support for such would be pretty cool to see, and help ful for me ;-D

Eh you can just put warps on the outer edges to the beggining of the other side.

KuJi 04-19-2006 02:56 AM

I already thought of that, but it would not make it look like its a single gmap. It would make it look like you have a gmap but then a regular link, then the gmap restarts. I need it totally wrapped.

napo_p2p 04-19-2006 03:00 AM

Actually, I have been wanting something like this too. Adding links won't do it, because at the 'edges', the world would seem to break. It would be better if the levels 'wrapped' around also.

Sulukra 04-19-2006 03:40 AM

If you dont want to make it seem like it ends, then just put a fake "end" level so that the level before that is actually the warp to the other level. It wouldn't be overly hard to do.

KuJi 04-19-2006 03:55 AM

Why would we need that when we can easily 'wrap' it around like a real world would be.

Tyhm 04-19-2006 09:02 AM

Sulukra's theory would work for the overworld: when you get to level A-1, there SEEMS to be another level on the other side of the link, and sure enough when you step onto the link you're warped to the other side of the world. But if there's a PKer lurking on the other side of the warp, he's effectively able to ninja-strike you by dancing in and out of A-1. And in any case, if you jam Left on the [M]ap screen, it'll only scroll over one level.

Yes, such support would be cool.
