Vote: Market Section for GK

A market section for Graal Kingdom items, yes or no?
This could be splitted in two areas: buying and selling.
If you think you really need such a forum, vote yes.
If you think "what a Bummer!", vote no.
Take it serious, don't :spam: !

CidNight1142 04-15-2006 09:40 AM

I see no reason why not. If nothing else, it may increase the popularity of the Kingdoms forums as members of the trading community will come here and be more active. I just don't see how it could hurt.

Draenin 04-15-2006 10:06 AM

Gets my vote.

Googi 04-15-2006 06:46 PM

Wow, nobody voted no even as a joke.

Damix2 04-15-2006 06:51 PM

It can't be worse then the "New Races" forum

ApothiX 04-15-2006 07:06 PM

Yay, my suggestion <3

ViperZakuto 04-15-2006 07:54 PM

Well, this sounds like a really good Idea to me, hopefully it will bring more people to the forums

Brad 04-15-2006 08:06 PM

i vote no

Zero Hour 04-15-2006 09:12 PM

It's going to be hard to moderate, but assuming it works the way it was intended it'll be a nice addition.

If we add it we will have some special rules in this section to prevent problems.

Yes, I'm just confident a large ammount of flaming and petty quarrelling will be involved :)

AlaricoMontario 04-16-2006 12:21 AM

Well, finally, we have a solution to our staff's excuse of 'I have nothing to do'

You can moderate, and actually -earn- your pay from Linux :)

I'm not sure who you mean, I've never witnessed any of the staff say that.

I'm a volunteer. In fact, I pay to play.

Draenin 04-16-2006 12:22 AM

The only thing that would probably need to be stickied in it would be the rules.

VulcanP2P 04-16-2006 12:29 AM

I like this. I just think the rules for it will need to be made so people aren't allowed to advertise USD sales. :)

Who said that ... :whatever:
I can't imagine anyone who should have said this, really. Becasue there is stuff to do.

Brad 04-16-2006 12:46 AM

this is a horrible idea

Draenin 04-16-2006 12:53 AM

Rules that definitely need to go in:

1. When advertising what you are selling, normal rules apply, such as not posting multiple times, particularly when something on the list is sold. That's why the edit button is available.
2. When something is sold, remove it from the listing in the original post. If something is added, add it to the original post as well.
3. Try not to make replies like, "Ok, I'll get on now and trade you but hang on I'm on Forest and have to run there." or things of that nature.
4. Don't argue over prices set by the seller. If the price is too steep or shallow, make a point of it, but don't attack someone for it. It is their item, after all.
5. The posts should be made like you would a sign or bulletin board. You should list what the item is, if possible - stats, how much or what items you want for it, and don't include phrases that try to coax people into thinking the item is rarer. (For example, "TWO OF A KIND!! BUY NOW BEFORE I SELL IT!") Regardless of whether it is rare or not, there is always the chance that another one will be released in the future, which may or may not cause the value of the item to fluctuate.

If any of these would need amending, please make a note of it.

Yeah. It's not like he doesn't spam that enough in masses.

Oh, they can set up USD deals but, as the rule states - if you set up a USD deal on Graal online game or servers you will be banned... :D

Draenin 04-16-2006 01:10 AM

Oh yeah. I forgot about that little loophole. In that case...

Brad 04-16-2006 07:55 PM

i sold everything i had i got only a few things left I could sell

i got no reason to be mad

Debaglio 04-16-2006 08:13 PM

I'm not sure if a new moderator is needed. I believe I'm capable - I was just saying it will require constant attention.

Damix2 04-16-2006 09:53 PM

How is he head merchant?

The mods we already have are fine.

upsilon 04-18-2006 05:03 PM

I like the idea of a trade forum, but agree that there need to be some rules of engagement. If negotiations are handled in-game or as forum PM's, and replies are restricted to discussion of the items for sale, not the sale of the items, it could work. Otherwise, if trade negotiations on the forum are anything like those in the trade house, the majority of the trade threads would be long lists of deleted posts.

Draenin 04-18-2006 06:36 PM

Yup. The most that should be discussed are things such as inquiries of the nature of items listed or similar matters.

Sam 04-19-2006 01:41 PM

I've got the agreement form Stefan to open the new market forum. Ibonic implemented it and so we can start. Read the special rules before you use it.

Googi 04-19-2006 07:15 PM

What's up with the rule that we can only advertise once a week and only 10 items per advertisement? I fail to see what there is to be gained by restricting members from using the forum for it's intended purpose.

It's to prevent overflowing the forum by super sellers.

CidNight1142 04-19-2006 08:31 PM

I'm gonna have to agree with Googi. Why can't there be super sellers? Perhaps the 'super sellers' have what you want. Eh, whatever.

We will see how it works, we can elaborate the rules later a bit.

Which wouldn't be a problem if they could put all of their items in one post, except that they can't because they can only put 10 items in a post.

I dont see a reason why they should put all of their items in one post. This market place is made to help players trading their items. It's not made to liquidate their account! And we dont want that it will be abused from people that just want to sell stuff they scammed.

CidNight1142 04-19-2006 10:13 PM

If you allow the selling of mass amounts of items (for example, I generally will have over 10 things to sell, but many of them are scrolls, EA's, GK's, and other lower value items) may actually help in the tracking down of scammers. We know someone just stole a rare item, the next day a person goes on the forums trying to sell that rare item. Voila, a little extra proof as to who your scammer is.
