Glitchy Graphics

1 Attachment(s)
I don't know if anyone elses Graal is being retarted like mine but mine has glitchy graphics all over even after turning off all effects and setting the the color quality to 16 and everything.
I have a GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8x graphics card OS = Windows XP with the most recent drivers. I havent found a fix yet, I know it isn't the best graphics card and I do need to invest in another one. If anyone can help...please do.

The glitches happen on the server screen and on lights and stuff the most, it also happens on the map constantly. Very annoying but still playable.

That looks weird, it seems the gfx are working but somehow the coordinates are messed up. Please post your graal4console.log

I get the same sort of error, except everything is blue outlines and red and text shows funny and if there's a custom map with a minimized version of your head it makes my head hide untill I change it to another one.

Aswell as sometimes people walk by and then their heads like get sucked over to mine like in that picture :X

If graal works on my PCI Radeon7500LE 64ddr, it should work on yours. :)

It does this sometimes, but not all the time. generally it's just really funked like its lower quality, but that's actually a blessing cause the majority of the time i'm on our inside computer (family computer) which is like 400 Processor XD and running like a bellow 5mb graphics card and around 316mb ram. It's a crap house, but it works fine on this PC i'm on now.

The drivers on the one inside (the crap one) are as upto date as they could be, but yeh I got no hope for that so I'ma donate my old PC to my mum XD (and it runs Windows 98 SE)

Godbless this PC though and for you to fix the problem I have found if you run it in 32bit mode it will work fine or if you're in that already try 16bit. It fixes it completley when I do that, but because of my computers specs it lags like hell.

I would still need graal4console.log
To Gaboom/others: often it is possible that the graphics card driver is not correctly installed. Uninstalling it and reinstalling a new driver often helps. So if you are not sure it is the latest driver (which means you have installed it yourself this week) then it could help.

I think if GraalOnline can run on a Intel(R) 82810E Graphics Controller, then it can run on whatever exists. :):)

Though, in relation to the subject, I've had this problem once before. As Stefan said, un-installing and re-installing graphic drivers tend to help. When it happened to me, the graphic drivers were not updating the recent, new versions until I un-installed the drivers.

This may be caused by some script on the PW you are in modifying the border/text color of a profile.

If your GFX Drivers are up to date, is DirectX up to date as well? I think the most recent is DirectX v9 revision C. You can always find out by checking microsoft.com.

I thought they came out with directX 10 awhile ago... Also have you just tried redownloading graal itselfs?

It can't be a PW script if it is happening on everything, start screen and all.
I have the most recent DirectX version.
I have the most recent GFX Card Drivers.
I have tried redownloading Graal.

Stefan:
Here is the log...

Warcaptain 04-13-2006 03:03 AM

the script thing would be for the serverlist problem that guy had.

Goboom 04-15-2006 06:23 AM

Deleting the driver dosen't fix it.
Stefan...any ideas?

Admins 04-15-2006 12:56 PM

You mean uninstalled and reinstalled?
Are other programs running which do 3D stuff ?

Actully this looks like Artifacts possibly overheating or a conflicting drivers; Also if you overclock which i dubt this could be a result of damage caused by longterm overclocking but in any case you should still post your log so it can be debuged.
