New Rules...

Quote:

OUT OF COURTESY FOR THE READERS, WE ASK THAT YOU ALWAYS QUOTE WHO YOU ARE
Uh, did you make a typo here or something? Do you realize how stupid it is to put a quote saying "I am Gerami" when my account is clearly shown on the top left?

Quote:

Do not post private chat/history of any kind (Graal, forums, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, etc...) if you don’t have authorization from all chatting parties
If someone is doing something illegal, of course they're not going to authorize you to post the chat!

Quote:

You are not permitted to make external links if they are not pointing to a Graal site (wiki.graal.net , graal.net, graalonline.com ) . In some very rare cases, we may accept some links after being approved by a administrator or super moderator.
What the hell? You said you're going to allow more freedom. Now you don't want external links like gamefaqs.com or so? Why? Seriously this is a stupid rule.

Now before a MOD tries to close this, I just read through the entire new rules and no where does it say "LOLOL U KANT POST TINGS ABOUT RULES. GO 2 UNIX PLZ".

Not sure what happened here, part of the sentence was cut out for some reason. It is fixed now, thanks for pointing it out

It is too easy to edit chat logs. If it has to do with something illegal, there are other ways in which to contact the appropriate person.

Who said they were going to allow more freedom? I'm not sure why Unix wanted this rule, but he did. Oh well.
Maybe he will allow external links in the NGRT when he is done with it.

It also says this in the rules:
Quote:

The moderation staff reserve the right to apply bans according to their own discretion - you receive warnings by convention, not necessity. Furthermore, they are entitled to arbitrate on any matters within their moderation roles. Moderators of individual forums, for example, can edit or delete your posts if they feel it necessary but cannot demand that you change your signature or other account details.

I also pointed it out. Twice. And in every post I made. Seriously, stop ignoring me. I am not inherently evil

While we are at it, how do you actually prove that the other person agreed to the posting of the log?

He already said he did (except obviously inappropriate links to pornography and stuff).

Yea, now that I look back at it, I see you were telling me in your odd sort of way, along with others with your quotes saying "I am so and so...".
You could have just told me straight out.
If you did, by chance, come right out and tell me, I apologize that I didn't see it.

That is actually a good point. Actually, I don't agree with posting chat logs period, will have to discuss this with Unix.

You are right.

What if they admit to doing something on aim and you take a screenshot? What if it's the only proof?

The fact that he understands we want more freedom is good enough.

Oh well.
#$#@ don't give me that kind of "oh whatever it happened oh well" attitude :(

Yes because I'm sure a 14 year old kid would jump out the window/kill himself if he read that BMW is making a new car.

It also says this in the rules:
Meaning screw those rules, you can do anything you want and say it's just.

I told you via ICQ.

Posting chat logs should be disallowed, period. They serve no purpose of proof, just like screenshots. People can just paraphrase their content if it is important.

Then it can be sent via some other method to the appropriate person, like I said. Not on the forums.

Right, but that is for the new NGRT that will be made as to keep it off the main forums.

It means that sometimes we have to use our best judgement, and common sense to judge what is appropriate for the forums.

I only use ICQ to talk to Unixmad

I agree, as I said.

But the forums are by far the best way to pass through information.

I still think it's retarded, linking to other sites has never been a problem. Why decide to change it all the sudden?

And it's best for threads such as this to be hidden away? Why?
