Tileset of Elk.
http://img437.imageshack.us/img437/3...stofall2on.png
Phew...I worked 2 hours on it so far... I stopped now because its 9 PM here and I have to do homework now ^^ It will be a complete tileset for catacombs and a church... Rate it xP |
7.5/10, not bad but:
1 - It's not complete 2 - the perspective on the overlapping part seems a bit off Anyway, still good. Complete it, I like it a lot and don't really have any critique. Nice use of dithering. |
I like it, however you'd need to make the walkway an image for it to have a decent effect.
|
5.5/10
Tile variation (bricks with cracks, that sort of stuff). |
As you can see maybe I fixed something here:
http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/3615/redo5zp.png Zero if you think its a 5,5 worth only because of tile variation... my opinion to this is, make it better All I like it as it is now...and I will complete it tomorrow maybe. It will own :) |
I like it. Very nice.
|
Depending on the color of the floor tile, you will need to up the contrast on the wall tiles, or you will cause eye strain. Also, I feel the indent is too deep, doesn't make visual sense because of this.
If you do need to up the contrast, the easiest way to do this would be to make the bottom of the bricks black with a single line, but you may find black is too dark. |
I really like this, it would look especially good in graal, i think ive met my match at pixeling :O Probably better than me infact. lol

Your archways need arching stones (keystone etc).

You do GoZelda

I really like the archway of stones, but you need to mess with it a little bit. The way it overlaps the top stone ledge doesn't sit right with me

I like it and it's ok...well yea it looks a bit weird but it's ok :)
http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/8018/thatshow0et.jpg I've just made the tiles so I wont change it again http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/8...mbselk13px.png Copyright 2006 Alexander Steiner. All rights reserved. :p Btw, the Tileset has only 28 colors ;P |

Hm w/e now I have to do the left/right walls + Floors and the whole tileset with Water.
That will be easier for sure ^^ (L/R walls) |
I wanna see this finish. Looks nice in my opinion, just needs a bit more contrast.
|
|
wow.
|
I really like it, nice work Elk :)
|
Nice!
Now I remember the reason I hired as GAT on Babylon. ;);) Haha, nice work Elk, looks quite nice! |
I hope you're going to use a prettier floor tile? And perhaps add tile variations (cracked bricks, dirty bricks - that stuff).
As it is, that grey floor doesn't do the wall justice :\ |

LOL you thought I would use that floor XD?
Rofl xD I'm GFXing a floor now it's just hard to make a floor what is usable as tiles...(dirty cracked bricks) I thought about the same...but it's hard :) |
good job, you make it how you want, those people arent making a game, are you?
|

Elk, like always hot. Not even going trough the trouble of rating it since that is just cheesy. The tiles are fine but some additional suggestions:
*Try making a "corner" version of each "normal" brick part. Try shading the edge a bit (left or right, depending on wich side it is) that should look nicer. (edit: nvm just saw that you already had them, you just made a tile error in the preview level) *Try making a "pillar" that goes into the wall. It completes the whole gothic? building style. |
