Okay, this is a gfx for an attack, this image would show after the player is hit with the attack. Comments? Suggestions?

Looks more like the kind of attack from a FF style battle system. I'd also suggest having the lines move out too.

EDIT:
Would be a pretty good warp/teleport animation, too.

I don't like how you can tell that it's confined to a limited area.

Hrm, you'd need to show me it on Graal for me to be convinced it's battle related.

If it's supposed to be the effect that shows after somebody is hit...
It's waay too slow. Something like that needs to be more of a quick flash of gfx

Sorry buddy but I'm not surprised at all :(

It's not that great, really. For one thing, if the big energy ball is retreating into the center again, why are the odd shapes in each direction supposedly heading away from it. Shouldn't they be pulled into the center as well? Also, like Stephen said, it's really easy to tell that it's a square shaped animation.

Couldn't have said it better myself...

Well, maybe a little better. ;)

Dislikes,
1- I prefer effects to be light effects or atleast have 24 bit alpha trans. Like a very translucent red scratch going over the player body.

2- That image makes me wanne say kamehameha instead of ouch...

3- Try looking at g2k1's new "hurt" system images. It's pretty simple but works very nice.
