House lights
I decided to start using v4 on GK and when i went inside my house it was Pitch Black and i couldnt see. Thats ridiculous. I shouldnt have to carry a torch around with me for everytime i want to go into my house. Either make it so i can see regardless or make a option to turn off lights. I doubt anyone will oppose this. Not being able to see is a stupid idea anyways

Torches should stay permanently lit, and should be extinguished by double-cliking them or something.

Although they should last a couple of days, in my opinion. |
They should atleast last longer then 5 minutes...
|
Even when torches are lit the area is still very very dim. Much darker than it used to be. Atleast this is how it is for me. It's still nearly pitch black with just dim little circles around the torch. I know before that when you lit a torch light would encompass the whole room...but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Well atleast for me.

As for torches I wouldnt mind if they were a bit brighter and lasted a bit longer. |
I like it as well as it is. Torches are not as bright as lamps and do not burn for a long time.
Around the house you can use a kindling wood to light a torch. We are somewhat around the Middle Ages and it's more inconvenient there as in the present time. |
Well let me change my words a bit. When I said torches I MEANT the lamps. Next time I go to my house I'll take a screenie and show just how dark it is. It's nearly as dark with the lamps/lantersn/wtf ever you want to call them as it is without them lit.

Okay well I went to my house and tested the lamps again and it seems the problem has been fixed or something.

Hey you should clean your windows, that's why it is so dark. Serious: you are right it could be made a bit more lighter around the windows (when tyou cleaned it^^). |
I don't think it's dark at all. It's possible can see everything perfect so I don't see any problem with it.
But if you adjust your screen too dark you have problems to see something. |

Perhaps they have theirs too dark. Perhaps it could just be adjusted slightly :) |
Hmm I never light torches in my house and I get around just fine. Some extra light would be nice, though.

Sure here you go You see its pitch black. I cannot function in a house where i cant even find my way to the lamps or anything at all. |

I agree though. There should be some sort of perma-light system or possibly make lamps last for a few IRL days. |

I can see chests and stuff just fine, sure it's dark, but it's visible.
|
Hrrrmmmm, everything to me seems perfectly visable, just in a dark shade.
|
May be there should come some light from the door and the windows?
(to at least make it look more interesting and not completely dark) |

Yeah I experienced this...on my mac laptop I can see the insides pretty well when its unlit, but on my home PC it is considerably darker.

As I said before: a lightning effect from the windows might be helpful. But it's still my real opinion we have to clean the windows from time to time then.
|
LCD/CRT monitors make a huge difference in lighting.
|
It's an issue of how dark the houses are. Not the kind of monitor you're using. If that were so, the screenshot would've shown up differently.

My brightness is maxed also, and I see very little inside his screenshot. It reminds me of my house. Though I always have a torch and two lamps by the door. Its not much of a bother. Though I wouldnt mind the light in the windows.
